I have decided to come out of lurk mode. dum dum dum.....

I'm thirty-two, in a longterm relationship (with Trav...) and the proud mother of a two year old boy. My interests are true crime, music (death/black metal), comics (total DC whore), Anime, horror flicks..ahh just about anything that one would not think a "normal" female to be into.

and I would like to state for the record that not now nor ever would I dream of having an affair with SWIVEL, though I must say the hat is damn sexy.

Really? It's the hat that gets you? I like the fabric print on the shorts.

(Welcome!)

Welcome fellow comic geek! Perhaps you can be our DC expert... someone we can turn to in a massive cross-over to figure out who the fuck this B-Grade villain is!

(an invite to our comic group (http://www.dreamindemon.com/forums/group.php?groupid=10) is forthcoming... we need to get enough members to turn it into our own forum)

Betcha it has something to do with her awful boyfriend that doesn't give her enough backrubs.

So I said:

And then Abroad said:

Okay, so maybe I haven't had enough coffee today but I just have to ask WTF did you mean by that Abroad and were you serious or joking? I just don't understand that comment at all. (And no, I'm not pissy, just want to know what you meant. Bad day is all.)

It was intended as a joke. Deciding you like someone on the strength of them being able to place an airborne comma correctly struck me as funny.

I didn't mean any offence; but I did mean to be funny. Sorry I did not succeed.

Don't you hate it when the sarcasm doesn't come out like you wanted? Story of my life.

Are you originally from the UK? Can we chalk this up to cultural differences? I thought Brits weren't supposed to have a sense of humor.

It is quite alright. I did not take any offense whatsoever, just had a brain fart and figured I'd ask. I did laugh about it later that night so you did succeed.

I respond to everyone who posts here in the "Intro Yourself" thread bcs they took the time to post something but I was getting sick of just writing "Welcome" so I have been trying to branch out and think of something else, and my dumbass redneck mind jumped right on "y'all" as soon as I saw it. I'll try harder next time

Don't knock your efforts. I think it is very commendable that you respond to us all, and I do see the need to vary the responses......

I am very pleased you did not take offence at my attempt at wise-cracking

No, I live in England, but it is abroad to me, - hence the name.

As for the Brits not having a sense of humour, I beg to differ. There is loads of word-play and whimsical double-bottomed humour in the UK. It may be a bit less obvious than American humour. I do know that the Americans I have met here get in to trouble for taking things literally that were spoken in jest.

So howdy y'all! Sometimes in writing humor instead of hearing it gets all twisted around. Glad you guys worked that out. Now back to the regularly scheduled program - Welcome sorrow...!
