View Full Version : 'Baby Factory' Raided, 32 Teenage Girls Freed

LAGOS, June 1, 2011 (AFP) - Nigerian police have raided a home allegedly being used to force teenage girls to have babies that were then offered for sale for trafficking or other purposes, authorities said on Wednesday.

"We stormed the premises of the Cross Foundation in Aba three days ago following a report that pregnant girls aged between 15 and 17 are being made to make babies for the proprietor," said Bala Hassan, police commissioner for Abia state in the country's southeast.

"We rescued 32 pregnant girls and arrested the proprietor who is undergoing interrogation over allegations that he normally sells the babies to people who may use them for rituals or other purposes."

Some of the girls told police they had been offered to sell their babies for between 25,000 and 30,000 naira (192 dollars) depending on the sex of the baby.

The babies would then be sold to buyers for anything from 300,000 naira to one million naira (1,920 and 6,400 dollars) each, according to a state agency fighting human trafficking in Nigeria, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The girls were expected to be transferred to the regional NAPTIP offices in Enugu on Wednesday, the regional head Ijeoma Okoronkwo told AFP.

Hassan said the owner of the "illegal baby factory" is likely to face child abuse and human trafficking charges. Buying or selling of babies is illegal in Nigeria and can carry a 14-year jail term.

"We have so many cases going on in court right now," said Okoronkwo.

In 2008, police raids revealed an alleged network of such clinics, dubbed baby "farms" or "factories" in the local press.

Cases of child abuse and people trafficking are common in West Africa. Some children are bought from their families to for use as labour in plantations, mines, factories or as domestic help.

Others are sold into prostitution while a few are either killed or tortured in black magic rituals. NAPTIP says it has also seen a trend of illegal adoption.

"There is a problem of illict adoption and people not knowing the right way to adopt children," said Okoronkwo.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Ritual killing of babies. I thought that shit ended centuries ago. I can't even fathom such things happening today. Poor babies. At least they caught one fucking prick responsible. Asshole.

Use them for rituals? WTF these are human beings. This world houses some really seriously fucked up animals.

Are these girls being held captive or being paid to give up their babies? I don't understand how any woman/girl would give up her baby be to be a slave or used for a ritual. If these girls are held captive and raped, that makes this whole thing that much worse, but it's hard to imagine how it can get much more evil than supplying babies to be used in rituals. Makes me want to nuke them all.

I really hope people start making examples of these shitheads. Shit like this makes me wish I had lots and LOTS of money. That way I could just roam the fucking Earth, day and night. By sea, by land, by air, taking out these sick fucks. Why do serial killers not go after people like this? I sure as fuck would. I've done made up my mind moths ago that whenever I go on, I'm gonna be doing some major head fucking. Assholes and abusers, beware. Bitches.

When you think about it, most humans are still no better off than they were hundreds and thousands of years ago, in some civilizations its still ok to keep slaves and captives, breed babies to sell like they do dogs and cats, goats and cows. While some of us have progressed, not enough, this is a terrible place we live in and what is the answer to stop this? These people with the baby breeding mills, not much will happen to them, pay a fine, and not much else, they will be back in business again... sickening how a lot of the rest of the world lives...

A fellow baiter had already seen this and sent out a new offer. Many of his scumbags cussed him, but the few offered up body parts. A baby skull was offered, for ritual purpose mind you, for $12USD. I think it's it's time to nuke these fucksticks!

We try to keep these douchenozzles away from truly vulnerable people. If possible, we get them detained, stranded, bankrupt or any combination above. They need to be taken out!

That comment had to do with no matter how civilized most of the world has become, there is a large portion that still lives the same as humans lived thousands of years ago, (culturally I mean)buying and selling human lives, keeping child slaves, even some immigrants from certain countries that move here, get educated, and become doctors, lawyers, rich businessmen have been known to have children or slaves working in their homes under cruel conditions with no freedom or pay. I am probobly the one saying this wrong but it was meant as a rather sad comment that in all this time humans have lived on earth, civility has not trickled down to all cultures.

There is a famous model, Waris Dirie, that for a time worked as a slave in some of her relatives households, lot more than that had happened to her too. I definitely would call this a sad state of affairs. That kind of depravity, IMO, needs to be dealt with immediately. No sense keeping monsters around!
