Shithead parents leave 8 y.o. son behind during home invasion

An 8 year old boy left behind... While his parents run out of the house to escape armed gunmen who broke into their home.

It happened on Gun Club Road.. Near West Palm Beach.

"I didn't want to leave. I couldn't leave him there."said the boy's mother Kellin Hahn. But Hahn tells CBS 12 that she and Kevin Dummett crawled out of a bathroom window during the home invasion leaving their son alone.

Dummett says the two armed men first approached him just after midnight as he was working on his car in the driveway. He claims they forced him into the house, robbed them cash and prescription painkillers then took off.

But the couple didn't report the first break in.

"I had no description. I couldn't see what they looked like. I still don't know what they look like."said Kevin Dummett.

The couple told investigators the men returned six hours later, burst through the back of the house and shot their dog to death.

CBS 12 asked them why they didn't try to grab the boy from his bedroom before escaping themselves.

"They had no reason to go in there. I knew they wouldn't go in there. I felt confident leaving him there knowing that all they wanted was what they came for."said Dummett.

According to investigators the intruders ran away right after shooting the dog. Deputies arrived soon after the gunfire to find the boy unharmed.

Dummett says he's never seen the men before. But he admits to a criminal record including .. battery and car theft ... that goes back ten years.

"I used to do the same thing. I used to do similar things. I hurt people and it came back on me." said Dummett.

This sounds like bullshit, it seems they knew their robbers and had an idea they wouldn't harm the child, not that that's an excuse. They didn't call the police the 1st time cause they didn't know what they looked like, yeah okay sure I believe you, no really I do!

There nothing like leaving your child to face danger all by hisself, unless he is the son of superman, who could defend himself. What morons these two are. I guess there are less and less parents willing to die to save their child or children. :(

These 2 are just weird. I'd really like to hear more. Maybe they did know the people that broke into the house...regardless, these fuckers came in and shot the family dog!! That little boy was probably scared to death!! Mom and dad are hightailing it down the street?? Assuming that somebody isn't gonna go after their kid?? How can they be so confident in that line of thinking?

Two plus Two is not adding up to Four in this story!!!

First off, they did'nt report the first incident!
Second they ran like a bunch of scared asses out of the house and did'nt take the child!
Third..she says that she knew that they would'nt hurt him..come on lady, everyday across the U.S. children are killed for no reason at all!
Fourth..In one of the links above it stated that the investigators was not releasing whether there was drugs or money in the house.
It will be interesting when all the facts are released!

Yeah there is no doubt there is something more here. My gut says that the parents are drug dealers, likely selling their pain killers for rent money, very common. I am guessing that although there is a slim chance they "don't know" these two individuals, someone they know does.

I grew up in a home where drugs were dealt, I know how shit goes down. Just saying what my gut feeling is.
