Cool pic of the usually lame GA from smallville.

Fucking awsome comicbook movies writer and so far so so director David S. Goyer is working on two comic book projects to direct at the moment X Men Origins: Magneto and a Green Arrow movie but the great news is Goyer told Wizzard Magazine (http://www.wizarduniverse.com/) the plot of of the GA movie and it sounds like one of the most interesting scripts a Super Hero movie has had so far...

"He’s Green Arrow for the first 10 minutes of the movie, and then he’s arrested and his secret identity is revealed. They shave his goatee and they take his costume and send him to prison for life, and he has to escape. It’s like ‘Alcatraz,’ and he has to team up with, in some cases, some of the very same villains he is responsible for incarcerating in order to get out and clear his name."

"Of course, tons of people try to kill him while he’s in there. We’ve populated the prison with all sorts of B and C villains from the DC Universe. For the fans, there will be all sorts of characters the hardcore comic book junkies will know, but they’re all going to be there under their human names and no one is wearing a costume, but there will be a lot of characters with powers and things like that."

This migth irritate some purists that want to see him in atire for the full movie figthing other costumed villians but I find this deeply interesting, im waiting for this flick.

B and C villains from the DC Universe? Even the hardcore fans will be wondering who the fuck is who!

I like the idea, though. It would be hard to do the Green Arrow on the big screen without him coming across as an urban Robin Hood. However, if they are going to do this, they should have done a Green Lantern first, to introduce GA properly, and THEN do the escape film.

I could swear this was the plot for something else Goyer was pushing. He just now added DC characters to the mix, but before it was going under a different name.

lol Swivel, I know what you mean, I have trouble distinguishing B rate DC superheroes much less C rate villians.

Realy Chud? I wouldnt put it past him, just re package an old script that didnt worked.

This would be a fantastic plot device for a Daredevil sequel, Seeing as the Kingpin discovered his identity and the only thing holding him back from releasing it was "Do you really want people to know you were beaten by a blind guy" he just realeases it anyway, DD goes to jail and has to face Kingpin, Lackey and other people he has put on jail there.

As is with most DC heroes, I'm not to familiar with the back-story of the Green Arrow. Like, at all. This sounds like a fairly interesting idea for a movie, though. It would defiantly make it different from all the other Super Hero movies out there.

I just looked it up. It was called Supermax. I'm pretty sure reading about it when they weren't sure what brand name superheros, if any, would be in it. The original screenplay was written without any specific heros in mind.

Either way, I'm glad DC picked this up. Lets face it, their lineup of superheros don't exactly lend themselves well to cinema, so they need these type of twists.

Dude... that was the best run of Daredevils in fucking forever!

And the Immortal Iron Fist was posing as DD outside of prison! And the Civil War was raging! And Bullseye and Kingpin were in prison with DD and everyone was trying to kill his ass! Fucking awesome.... Oh, oh... and the PUNISHER!

Fuck, I loved those issues. So darkly drawn.

God damn, sounds like I need to be reading that comic. I picked up a couple of the new X-Men books last week, and I've never felt to lost in my life as to what the fuck was going on!

Reading X-Men is not fun. It's like doing your taxes. I got to seek references everywhere.

It seemed like they've changed even the most fundamental things I thought I knew about the franchise. Professor Xavier was walking around. At what point did he become "not crippled"?

I picked up X-Men Issue 207 and X-Factor Issue 27 and couldn't believe how lost I was in the story. It seems to me that the last time I remembered following a series, you could pick one up even in the middle, and tell what was going on.

Agree. And I'm going to start hating Wolverine if he keeps popping up everywhere. Tease us, Marvel.

The only good thing about the X universe was the House of M and killing all but a few hundred mutants. They really needed to clean that shit up.

Other books to read:

Captain Marvel 1-6 - Awesome shit.
Captain America from his death to current - Best comic run in recent memory. Bucky is my new favorite comic hero.
Immortal Iron Fist current run.
New Green Lantern.
