Rumour has it that the Demo will come out on May 4th. That would be a cool birthday present. My friend actually bought the first one for me on my Birthday.

I'm loving the game. And the auction house is awesome. I've gotten some great deals and have made some money. I also just bought the most bad ass car I've seen...

My new 'For a Few Dollars More' Mustang:

There was a pretty awesome looking Akira car for sale last night but I didn't have the money for it.

How does it play? Control wise? Does it feel realistic or arcadey. I'm only a fan of racing games in which I can break shit, but I could make an exception.

The physics are the most realistic that I've ever played. You can turn damage on and off as well as make it cosmetic only. I love the game, as I did the first one. There is a demo on the marketplace.

I bought two more cars this morning. A Bewitched one and one of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

No way! Really? No cockpit view?

There is no cockpit view. I'm not really bothered by it. If I get the wheel, I'll just use the one that shows the hood. I can't remember if any of the GT games had a cockpit view but it seems like it would be a pain in the ass to design the cockpit of all 300+ cars.

Now way, they could've done it when the modeled the exteriors of the 300+ cars. :)

But I am downloading the demo today to check it out.

Really. If I owned a 360 right now, the driving game I would be getting is "Dirt". It is more of a rally-car game, but the physics are just as good, the graphics are even better than Forza, you have a cockpit-view, and the game is just more "fun", according to critics.

Supposedly it is everything that was expected from the PS3 game, "Motorstorm". Oh, and the damage modeling is just sick. The windshield will crack or even explode while you are driving from the cockpit view.

Release date is mid-June.

I'll be getting Dirt but the physics are no where near as realistic. It's part sim, part arcade. I've played the demo, and it's fun. But I don't see it holding my attention nearly as long as Forza will.

I did spend like an hour of the demo for Dirt running into things. The damage physics and all that are awesome. As are the graphics. But game play is far more important than the graphics.

I saw you playing Dirt this morning Killroy. What do you think of it?

I'll make a thread for the game later.

From what little I played, not too bad. I thought the physics\damaging was some of the best I've seen. As far as realism goes, I have not played much to judge as I spent most of my time purposely wrecking into things. But from what little bit of time I tried to stay on the track, it didn't feel too arcadey too me. I'm gonna play with it some more later this week.

That "DiRT" game looks pretty bad ass. And this is coming from a guy who isn't really into racing games.
