Man wanted in 2006 child abuse case arrested in Philippines
A man wanted on charges of rape and child abuse filed against him in 2006 was captured in the Philippines and is headed back to Hampton Roads.
David Wayne Greth was living in Portsmouth when the parents of two girls learned they had been abused, according to the "America’s Most Wanted" website. Police investigated, but before he could be arrested, Greth disappeared.
He was featured in The Pilot’s Crime Line listings in October 2006 and on "America’s Most Wanted" in December 2006.
Authorities learned Greth was working at an English tutorial center in the Philippines and he was captured on Dec. 8, according to "America’s Most Wanted."
Greth is headed back to the area to face charges. He was wanted on charges of rape, object sexual penetration, two counts of taking indecent liberties with children, aggravated sexual battery, forcible sodomy, child abuse and three counts of felony child abuse.
Portsmouth Detective John Doyle said the last update indicated Greth was in California.
