Kathleen Edward's family knows the 7-year-old is dying. They just don't appreciate the constant reminders from their neighbor in Trenton.

Fox 2 reports Edwards is in the final stages of Huntington's Disease, a degenerative brain disorder which killed her mother, Laura, at the age of 24.

But neighbor Jennifer Lynn Petkov is far from sympathetic, as you can see in the shocking video the right.

Petkov admitted to the television station that she posted images to Facebook depicting the 7-year-old's face above a set of crossbones and the mother in the arms of the grim reaper.
Why?

"Personal satisfaction," she said without apology. "Because it rubs their a---s raw. Burns their a---s."

It's not clear how or when the downriver feud began, but Kathleen's family called police on Thursday complaining Petkov and her husband were taunting the child by attaching a coffin to their pickup truck. Officers responded to the call but made no arrests.

I love the part where the husband said he's been suspended and might be fired from his job because of her and her antics! A member of Kathleen's family says the bad blood started about two-years ago after the two families had a falling out over a birthday party at the Rose house. At the party kids were using a "bounce-house" and playing games in the front yard. The source says that Jennifer Petkov texted someone in the Rose family, asking if her kids could come to the event. A response to the text did not come quickly enough and it angered Jennifer. According to the Rose family, she's been harassing them ever since.

A Facebook page was set up identifying Jennifer Petkov as the ‘Devil of Detroit Street’ and an online petition describing the couple as ‘disgusting human beings’ was aiming to collect 100,000 names.
The story has also gone viral - causing people from around the world, including Britain and Germany, to send messages of support to Kathleen's family.
The dying girl’s father Robert Edwards appealed to the Petkov family: ‘Just leave us alone; that’s all we want. Don’t make any more comments about our daughter.’
Mr Edwards, 26, said it has been tough enough caring for his family.
‘You have to understand how angry we are,’ he told the Detroit News.
The police told us they were shocked that we haven’t gone over there and beat the hell out of her.
'But there’s more important things to deal with, like our daughter. She’s hanging in there. We have hospice at our home every week, and that’s a lot to deal with on its own.’
Kathleen’s stepmother, Gabrielle Edward, said the feud started two years ago.
‘Kathleen’s grandmother had a birthday party, and Jennifer sent a message asking if her kids could come over to play,' she said.
But the grandmother, Rebecca Rose, did not respond to the text quickly enough, she said. 'That's where it all started.'
Asked why she escalated the ugly feud, Jennifer Petkov said it was for 'personal satisfaction' and 'because it burns Rebecca Rose's a** raw.'
Mrs Edwards, 19, said they have tried to shield Kathleen from the taunts.
‘She’s seen some of this stuff, but we’re doing our best to try and keep her away from it. When the truck would pull up, we’d immediately take her inside to play,’ she added.

Mrs Petkov, 33, tried to make amends by apologising yesterday. She said she would walk right across the street and tell the Edwards family herself if a restraining order hadn’t been issued against her by a local court.

The eldest of the Petkovs’ four children was also sent home from school after getting into an argument with a classmate who confronted him about the Internet photos, said the couple.
‘My husband is a good person and I hope he doesn’t lose his job. I hope our family doesn’t lose his job. I’m the bad person,’ said Mrs Petkov.
‘I feel horrible for what I’ve said and done. That little girl shouldn’t have had to lose her mum like that and she shouldn’t have to lose her life either. I just hope she didn’t see those pictures.’

The little girl is dying from a rare brain disorder. Why did Petkov post another photo of Kathleen's mother, Laura Edward, wrapped in the arms of the Grim Reaper? Laura Edward also died from Huntington's Disease.

Why did Jennifer's husband Scott Petkov paint a pick up truck with tombstones, place a coffin in the bed of the truck and park it in front of Rebecca Rose's house, the place where Kathleen and her father live?

Rebecca Rose's answer says it all started about three years ago when she threw a birthday party for her youngest daughter, who is also handicapped. Jennifer Petkov texted that she wanted her kids to come to the party, but no one responded to the text until it was too late. According to Rose, Petkov became incensed and then stood on her front porch saying she did not want her kids to play with these "F-in retards" anyway. Rose says things simply escalated from there.

Over the past three years the Petkov and Rose family have been to court for mediation to settle disputes between them. Currently there is a personal protection order (PPO) in place against the Petkov's.

Since this story first made air on October 7th, the Petkov's have apologized, the Facebook posts removed, the coffin dismantled and the truck has been repainted. TRENTON, Mich. - There has been an outpouring of sympathy and support for a dying girl from Trenton. We first told you about little Kathleen Edward last week when she was being taunted by her neighbors. Now, there's been another apology.

"We've been sorry since it happened. We're sorry," said Scott Petkov.
Wednesday, he tried to apologize to his neighbor across the street without violating the personal protection order against him. That neighbor is Rebecca Rose, the grandmother of seven-year-old Kathleen Edward, who's dying from Huntington's disease. Last week FOX 2 showed you the pictures Scott's wife Jennifer had doctored and posted on Facebook of Kathleen as a skull and crossbones and of her dead mother, also a Huntington's victim, in the arms of the grim reaper.
"Because it burns Rebecca Rose's (expletive) raw for me to make fun of her dead daughter on that page," that was Jennifer Petkov's reaction when asked about the pictures. She has since apologized, as has her husband, saying it was all over a long-standing neighborhood dispute, but some, including Rose, have questioned the sincerity of that apology.

"I just wish all of this would just stop," said Rose.
However Scott Petkov, who's been suspended from his job as a forklift operator over this, seems genuinely contrite.

"(We) are not just saying that like the media's telling because we received the vandalism, the death threats the last time you were here. It is not like that," Scott Petkov said. "We are truly sorry."
So much good has also come from all of this. Every day, Kathleen receives gifts of love.

"Yesterday she got cupcakes, flowers from Pakistan, all over. It's amazing," Rose said.
Thursday morning, she'll be treated to a shopping spree at Tree Town Toys in Ann Arbor. Then there's that event for Kathleen on October 23.
A small rally that's still days away is now expected to draw at least 3,000 people. If you are planning on coming, you need to know the location has changed. It will now be held here at Elizabeth Park.
Donations are also pouring in. Pegasus Entertainment in Southfield is donating a sound system, and Scotty's Potties in Romulus will provide the portable restrooms.

"If we can help out, that's what we're here for. We try to take care of our own," said Rick Brooks with Scotty's Potties.

"Hopefully that she will see that there's support for her, and hopefully she doesn't know anything about this. It's just, 'Hey, I'm sick and people are supporting me,'" said David Grossman with Pegasus Entertainment. "That's my hope."
Organizer Michelle Yerigian still needs $300 for the stage rental, but with all the people contacting her on Facebook she's bound to get the donation.

myFOXDetroit.com Staff - Police in Trenton say Jennifer Petkov was arrested today for 'assault using a dangerous weapon' and 'reckless driving' after she allegedly tried to use her car to run over a neighbor. This is the same woman who had been taunting a dying little girl, Kathleen Edward of Trenton, by posting disturbing photos on Facebook.

On Wednesday, neighborhood resident Tana Boling was on her way to Rebecca Rose's house, the grandmother of Kathleen Edward. As she crossed the street she says Petkov tried to hit her. "Her car was in her driveway. I didn't notice if anyone was inside, it's just there. When I got so far into the street, she came speeding out of her driveway right toward me. If I didn't get out of the way she would have hit me, there is no doubt," says Boling.

Petkov remains in jail at this time, pending a bond of $75,000 or 10% paid for release.

If Petkov, 33, is convicted of felonious driving she could face up to four years in prison. The charge of reckless driving is a misdemeanor and carries a sentence of up to 93 days in jail.

33rd District Court Judge Michael McNally scheduled a preliminary examination of the evidence against her for 8:30 a.m., October 26.

Trenton police also tell Fox 2 that Petkov is currently under a six-month probation for disorderly conduct. The probation period began on July 5, 2010.

Petkov has been in the center of a story that has gripped metro Detroit and the nation, after she posted a photo of Kathleen Edward's face as part of a "skull and crossbone" on her Facebook page. Edward is a 7-year-old-girl who is dying from Huntington's Disease, a rare brain disorder. Petkov also posted a photo of Kathleen's mother Laura Edward, wrappde in the arms of the grim reaper. Laura died last year from the same disease.

TRENTON, Mich. - A custody hearing was held for two of Jennifer Petkov's children. A Wayne County Probate Court judge ruled on an emergency order. Her eight-year-old daughter and five-year-old son from a previous relationship will now move in with their father until further notice.

TRENTON — Jennifer Petkov was involved Saturday in another neighbor dispute with a woman she is accused of attempting to run over last month.
Petkov is charged with felonious assault and reckless driving for allegedly trying to run over Tana Bowling as she was crossing the street Oct. 13.
Petkov was arraigned Oct. 15. A preliminary examination of the evidence against her is set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in 33rd District Court in Woodhaven.

Police were called to Detroit Street twice Saturday on issues involving Jennifer and Scott Petkov, both as the complainant and the accused.

Animosity keeps boiling over in the Trenton neighborhood where Jennifer Petkov gained international infamy last fall for taunting a terminally ill 7-year-old girl on the Internet.

A Wayne County judge Tuesday arraigned Jennifer Petkov, 33, and her husband, Scott, on claims they violated a personal protection order taken out by the grandmother and father of Kathleen Edward, who has Huntington's disease.

But Circuit Judge Charlene Elder said new complaints can wait for a hearing until March 1, after the scheduled Feb. 8 criminal trial where the woman known by some as the "Devil of Detroit Street" is accused of trying to run over a neighbor.

"It's a mess," said Robert Adkins, who has friends on both sides and has offered occasional asylum for the Petkovs in his home outside of the neighborhood. The Petkovs say they are trying to sell their house.

Rose's PPO violation complaint claims Petkov and her husband harassed her with pranks, Internet postings and stalking. She claims Trenton Police have been given a video recording of Jennifer Petkov telling her husband to follow Rose. Jennifer Petkov has denied any wrongdoing.

Both sides have taken photos and videos of each other that have been turned over to police and posted on Facebook and YouTube. Some of the videos are of the parties recording each other.

The Trenton woman who gained international infamy last fall for taunting a terminally ill 7-year-old girl on the Internet must move from her home after pleading guilty today to assault and battery.

Jennifer Petkov, 33, entered the plea today in Wayne Circuit Court to charges stemming from allegations that she attempted to run over a neighbor with her car. Judge Carole Youngblood sentenced her to 18 months probation with a long list of conditions including a requirement to move out of her Trenton neighborhood.

TRENTON: Police investigating Detroit Street dispute stemming from Facebook

TRENTON — A new investigation is under way in a neighborhood dispute that could be related to one that stirred international outrage over Facebook postings of a deceased woman and her child.

On Thursday night, a resident of the 100 block of Detroit Street filed an intimidation/harassment complaint with police.

She said she had received several harassing messages on Facebook from someone’s personal Facebook.

The person who allegedly sent the messages previously was served with a personal protection order to stay away from the woman filing the complaint.

“We’re going to investigate this to verify who sent the messages,” Police Chief William Lilienthal said.

He said if there is an indication that the suspect violated a probation order, police will notify court officials.

Rose told police, who then confirmed, that she has served Personal Protection Orders against Scott and Jennifer Petkov. The Personal Protection Orders stated that there is to be no communication to Rose, according to police.

Police said they tried to obtain a written witness statement from Rose, but while she was writing she stated, “I can’t take it anymore” and ran out of the Trenton Police Department crying.

Police tagged the six Facebook documents they received from Rose as evidence.

Rose told Trenton Patch she wants the harassment to stop for the sake of her dying grandchild. She said she wants her remaining days to be peaceful.

"Doctors say Kathleen might not live another year," Rose said. "She has seizures and is in a wheelchair."

She also wants the harassment to stop because she said she is tired of her life consisting of harassing comments and hateful language toward her and her daughter.

"People tell me, just don't look at it. But it doesn't matter if I read it or don't see it," Rose said Monday.

Jennifer and Scott Petkov were back in court Wednesday, accused of violating the PPO that prohibits contact with little Kathleen Edward.

It's alleged Jennifer appeared within site of Kathleen and made Facebook postings about Kathleen, including using a photo of her and her family as her profile picture.

At her arraignment, Petkov pleaded not guilty. If found guilty, she could be sentenced to up to 93 days in the Wayne County Jail and fined up to $500, but her attorney says Petkov isn't responsible for the postings.

"The allegation was that there's some contact on Facebook. The Petkovs, neither of them, are accessing Facebook. They have someone who's hijacked those pages, and those are things that we're going to address in court," said attorney Scott Weinberg.

She printed out the pages and said each profile except one has a different picture of her. All of the profiles are in the name “Jennifer Petkov,” except one that is under her maiden name, “Jennifer Burnett.”

Petkov, 34, said she does not have an account with Facebook and she found out about the accounts from her sister.

Police said she wanted it to be documented because she doesn’t want anyone to think the accounts belong to, or are being operated by her.

Taunted girl with Huntington's disease dies

Wyandotte— About two years after enduring taunts from a neighbor, 9-year-old Kathleen Edward has died from her battle with Huntington's disease.

Her father, Robert Edward, said Kathleen died at 10:07 p.m. Wednesday at their Wyandotte home.

"The world remembers her smile and will never forget it," he said Thursday morning. "She would do anything for anybody. She never complained — never."

Ashley Edward, 5, has been looking at the sky since Wednesday night trying to talk to her sister, her father said. Her other sister, Maddison, is only 2 and doesn't completely understand, he said.

Kathleen received support from around the world after a neighbor taunted her by putting her picture above a set of crossbones on Facebook in September 2010, among other alleged taunts. The now former Trenton neighbor, Jennifer Petkov, was later arrested on charges stemming from allegations that she attempted to run over another neighbor with her car, but her probation has ended.

Though Kathleen only died within the past several hours, her father said he's seen Facebook pages flooded with supportive comments.

"We don't know how to deal with this," he said. "We've been trying to prepare for this for five years, but there's just no way you can prepare."

Kathleen fell last week and had to have staples put in her head, but doctors told her father that didn't cause her death. She became ill over the past two days, and antibiotics couldn't save her.

"She just couldn't do it anymore," he said.

Kathleen had lost muscle control because of the disease, but she loved watching movies with her sisters, said longtime family friend Michelle Yerigian, 44.

"Aunt Shelly," as the girls call her, said Kathleen was surrounded by family and friends when she died, and she appeared comfortable at the end.

"There were so many people that came by just to support the family and to say goodbye to Kathleen," Yerigian said. "She just touched our lives in more ways than we could ever describe.

"She was surrounded by love."

Although Kathleen's story gained national attention because of the unfortunate taunting story, it helped teach people about genetic diseases such as Huntington's, said Fred Taubman, spokesman for Huntington's Disease Society of America.

"It certainly built a lot of awareness in the Detroit area and the region and to some extent nationally," Taubman said, though he wished it hadn't come as a result of the taunting. "This is a story that everybody could relate to because nobody wants to see anybody treated in that way."

Robert Edward is making funeral arrangements later Thursday, but said the girl's memorial will be at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home in Flat Rock. She will be buried at Mount Hope Memorial Garden in Livonia next to her mother, Laura Edward, who died of Huntington's disease in June 2009.

Grandma says that Jennifer is an attention whore who is trying to steal the lime-light from the little girl in her death. Dad says he is done, no more court, no more media, and he forgives Jennifer because that is what Kathleen would have done. Petkov appeared on the "Dr. Phil" show. She was asked if she felt remorse or wanted to apologize for harassing an innocent little girl.

"I'm sorry for everything. I wish that we could go back to when we were all neighbors and would watch each other's kids and could rely on each other because sometimes all you have is your neighbors," said Petkov. "I don't expect your forgiveness, but I'm sorry if I said anything ever or did anything ever that hurt you."

"Jennifer tormented me the last year of my daughter's life. Then after my daughter died, I never, ever had a chance to grieve because I was too busy defending myself and too busy reading nasty posts and seeing pictures of my dying granddaughter and dead daughter. I want to grieve for my daughter and granddaughter without being tormented by Jennifer Petkov," Rebecca Rose said.

I thought I would share this link from another awesome community called Reddit (any Redditors here?). These folks contributed to a big shopping spree that Kathleen got to help brighten her spirits after these shitbags had their bullying way with her.

There are some KICK ASS pics linked in this Reddit thread. She had a limo ride to a toy store, a literal red carpet entry complete with rose petals and she got pretty much any and everything she wanted in the store. It was a private shopping day for her and her friends and family only.

I wanted to share it because as shitty as she was treated by those people there were also a LOT of good people that wanted to make her happy.
