KISSIMMEE -- A mother and her son were arrested on child abuse charges, and the father could soon join them.
The Department of Children and Families and Osceola County Sheriff's deputies went to a home on Warrior Lane Saturday after receiving a call of possible abuse.
Deputies knocked on the door, but no one answered, though they noticed someone inside the home.
Deputies eventually were able to get inside, and found four juveniles and two adult siblings in the house.
The juveniles were believed to have been held against their will, and were placed in protective custody by DCF.
According to deputies, they found locks on doors to keep the children in their rooms.
"There was physical abuse; there was evidence of physical abuse. Also the home was very unsanitary. The conditions were deplorable," said Twis Lizasuain, spokeswoman for the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
The mother, Sameena Jaweed, 41, and son, Farqan Jaweed, 22, were arrested and charged with four counts each of domestic aggravated child abuse, and four counts each of domestic false imprisonment.
The father, Sadaqat Jaweed, was not arrested, but would face similar charges when he was.
