A 3-year-old girl died Sunday after she was left alone in a hot car outside a Tampa church.

Police say Ruebensa "Hally" Rozin was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon after she was rushed to Tampa General Hospital.

Before rescuers arrived at the scene, police say parishioners at the Ebenezer Baptist Haitian Church administered CPR after finding a faint pulse.

Police say the little girl, her 1-year-old brother, and a 12-year-old arrived at the church Sunday, driven in an SUV by 25-year-old Rodline Rigby, a cousin.

"The 25-year-old cousin had a routine: Each Sunday, she would pick them up and go to church," Tampa police spokesperson Laura McElroy said. "Sunday, it appears that she believed the 12-year-old was taking the two younger kids into the childrens' section of the church, and that she walked into the adult section."

Unfortunately, McElroy said the 12-year-old thought his older cousin was bringing the 3-year-old inside.

Police say Hally was alone in the parked SUV for at least 90 minutes with outside temperature at more than 90 degrees.

When she was finally discovered, she was unconscious, investigators said. Parishioners then rushed her inside and performed CPR, but it was too late to save her.

Rigby also had to be hospitalized after becoming distraught.

McElroy says detectives are investigating, and autopsy results are expected. She says detectives could decide to bring charges, but ,"right now, it appears to be a terrible accident."

Accidents do happen. I have asked my kid to grab the baby and then as soon as I got in the door watched my child walk passed me empty handed. Hello! Get the baby!

It's a shame. I can't imagine how difficult it must be.

Easy, rule of thumb. The ADULT always takes care of getting the children out of the car. My 6 yo loves to help get his brother out of his car seat. I let him help with that but I am the one who gets him out and makes sure BOTH children are safely out of the car.

Sure I can see this happening but its such a crying shame as young children need adult supervision at all times. Bottom line even tho this was an oversight she was the one responsible for her child's well being and this, IMO was just sloppy parenting.

poor sweet child, what a terrible, terrible way to go. rest in peace.
