Both of them have a list price of $89.98 but combined with a 10% sale and a buy-one-get-one-free sale, I managed to get them for a combined total of $80.99. AWESOME! That is one of the better deals on DVDs that I have ever gotten.

I am disappointed with the Over the Edge cover, as they do not highlight the stars of the movie, but rather some of the actors who were in it who later became stars. Not that I don't understand the marketing reasons behind it, but still.

I went with the 2005 Synapse version of Street Trash rather than the 2006 because I will eventually pick up the 2006 version at a later date. Besides, the 2005 version had Tenafly Viper stickers. :)

Bad Taste and Deep Red were a couple I noticed off the bat and I'm sure there will be a few more that I will find endearing, if not comedically bad.

I thrown all my jewel cases away. I take out the inserts and DVDs and put them in soft cases that hold the inserts on one side, so you can look at the cover, check the back for credits, etc...

I was running into a space and transport issue. And frankly, as much as I loved having the cases arrayed on a shelf, I much prefer to sit back on the couch with my folios spread out, flipping through them like giant books.

I thrown all my jewel cases away. I like the jewel cases though. I love having that bulk of movies sit on my shelf. It gives me the sense that I have a library of films to chose from whenever I get home from a long day of work and want to sip beer and zone out in front of some B-rated debauchey. I will also compulsively buy films by their cover alone.

I think Kakihara definitely has me beat though, but at this pace someday, maybe someday, I'll catch up. I'm thinking about converting one room of my house into a kind of DVD library/ trash culture worship space; posters, props, flicks, bags of popcorn, and a little fridge full of pop and beer.

Yeah I don't have a computer, and don't plan on getting one anytime soon, so I stick to Best Buy and Amazon. I'm not too big on burning DVDs. Like I said, I like the artwork and the cases.

Which brings me to my next point......I really fucking hate it when they transfer VHS to DVD and stamp some shitty ass photoshopped hackjob on the front. Please, PLEASE keep the original artwork! Those painted posters from the 70's and 80's rule!

Aside from The Beyond, I've not seen a Fulci film that really impressed me. City Of The Living Dead is decent but I didn't much care for Zombi or New York Ripper. I love The Beyond for just how surreal and strange it is. His other films just don't hold the same type of strangeness for me, if that makes any sense.

I agree about Italian schlock from the late 70s/early 80s. You had guys like Mattei, Fulci, Argento, Savoi, Lenzi, and Deodato making films that no one else would touch. They didn't care what anyone thought about their films, they were just there to make the goriest, strangest films possible. I consider them to be sort of like punk rock pioneers, making films just for the fun of it, and pushing the extremes as far as possible.

I bought Dollman on eBay. It's by the same people who produced the Puppet Master Series.

The film is about a space cop who follows some bad guys to earth, and ends up being only a few inches tall because of the earh's atmosphere. It's very hard to find on video or DVD, but do pick it up if you can.

There was one sequel released, called Dollman vs. Demonic Toys which features characters from three separate movies.

For my money it's the greatest example of satire ever and it's aged beautifully. (just like chinatown has)

It's hilarious, has superb acting across the board and is more relevant now than ever. If ever there was a perfect film this is it.
