In an announcement that really wasn’t too shocking, Corey Feldman has stated that he could not convince Warner Brothers executives to launch The Lost Boys: The Tribe on theater screens this summer. Instead, it will hit home video in July. Check out the official trailer:

Holy shit. I can't believe this was even made. One of my favorite films of all time (and my favorite soundtrack) is going to be ruined by some wash-ups trying to cash in on name recognition.
I hope it goes straight to HD-DVD.
Edit: I wasn't going to watch the trailer, but I had a 2-girls-1-cup moment and hit "play" anyway. You know what that looked like? It looked like a gag reel that Saturday Night Live put together on the night that Cory Feldman guest-hosted. I can't believe how awful that was. Half the lines they used were ripped STRAIGHT from the first film. "You know that wine you drank the other night? It was blood", "Let's go hunt some vampires", "You'll never grow old, you'll never die, you'll never know fear", "I'm a vampire. No, REALLY, I'm a vampire".
Jesus, just do a bit of Dolby work and re-release the original to a new generation. Now excuse me while I go throw up.
In someone else's mouth.

This thing has been a joke from the get-go. The fact that they got a little popularity back with their reality show is probably the only reason they even got it made in the first place.
I am not a fan of the first film, but even had I been, my feelings wouldn't change on this obvious grab for some cash. I PRAY that it is so bad, the it is KNOWN for being so bad. I also need another really, really bad film to add to my library, even if it means I will be giving either of those two idiots money to put in their pockets.

I guess if you didn't like the first one there is no harm in seeing this one. I won't be able to do it. Lost Boys was one of the first scary movies I was allowed to see in the theater. I was 12 at the time, and the film blew me away. I had yet to see Rebel Without a Cause and all the other classic films with their game of "chicken", so the motorcycle race towards the edge of the cliff was seminal for me. It was also the second VHS we ever owned (Raiders of the Lost Arc being the first), and my first tape purchase with my own money (also, when I converted to CD's, it was the very first CD I ever bought).
Really, just watching that trailer was painful enough. I'm going to go watch 2-girls to get the taste out of my mouth (and get my morning masturbation out of the way at the same time).

I'm gonna see it, no matter how painful, because I need to be rid of that horrible Jason Patric crush I got as a kid. I loved the Coreys. I loved Keifer. I even loved the dude from Bill and Ted, Alex Winter. But I hated, hated Jami Gertz. Bitch got all the cute guys. Lost Boys, Less Than Zero... whore.
I find it hard to believe anything could be worse than more Jami Gertz, so I'll have to see this one just to find out for sure.

Jami Gertz, I had the BIGGEST crush on her. I used to fantasize about her Lost Boys character.

Well, if you timed your strokes with her blinks you could go at least three minutes, maybe four. She has the longest blink time ever.

Bad Coreys, bad bad!
First off, no Grampa, sucks already!
Plus, how can they ever hope to beat the Death By Stereo scene in the orginal?
Jamie Gertz is on some sitcom now, Still Standing. Her hubby on that is some large, ugly lazy guy.

"thou shall not want....."
The picture of "The Coreys" up top has cemented the reason why I doubt I will ever watch this. Ok, maybe but that's a big MAYBE. I have memories of myself piddling my diddle to my Teen Beat picture of Corey Haim. That's a lie of course. I did practice kissing my pillow though with mucho, mucho intensity.

God I was in love with Corey Haim too. Don't ever watch The Two Coreys on A&E. It will totally ruin all memories for you. Corey Haim is now a whiny bitch who can't find a job or get laid to save his life, and Corey Feldman is so uptight and prissy you will want to smack him. Seriously.

So sad.
I loved Corey Feldman. I liked him in Stand By Me, although that was River Phoenix's vehicle and he was way cuter. But i loved him in Lost Boys. I loved Jason Patric-Dumbass more, but I was shallow.
Corey Haim was either a little young for me, or a little stupid. I suspect the latter. I did give "Dream A Little Dream" a double whirl for Feldman, though. And it had a great soundtrack, too. But should never have had a sequel - much like Lost Boys in that regard, I'm sorry to say.

This movie is not great but it ain't all bad either! Like Morbid said and I agree...
I thought Corey would be the joke of the film and really, He's the best part!
Also, stick around during the credits as there's a brief scene with the 2 Coreys,
And it's quite funny if you watch the 2 Coreys tv show!

Morbid says...
There are a few ties to the first film. One of them, the funniest, is a shot of a fat, homeless saxophone player shown in one of the opening montages. A direct jab at TIm Capecello, the buff, shirtless sax player in the original film.
Imdb says...
Anyone looking to see Tim in the new lost boys movie will be in for a let down.Tim has said on his myspace page that he knew nothing about the movie, and was never asked to be in it.Check out what writer Hans Rodionoff said....
""The saxophone guy comes back in a way that's pretty great! I had written that in the script. And it was funny 'cause it was a reference nobody at WB got except for P.J. He was like, 'I got your back brother, we're getting him back in the movie.' To me this movie feels like a nice tip of the hat to the original."
As you will see when watching the movie, this is obviously a lie. The only "sax guy" in the movie is a pot bellied guy playing the sax on a sidewalk.
I know it's not the same guy but Imdb also credits him for being in part 2
