According to Enterbrain (http://www.dreamindemon.com/forums/www.enterbrain.co.jp/index_en.html), the Tokyo-based research firm that publishes the Famitsu video game magazine, Nintendo sold 251,794 Wii consoles in Japan last month, while Sony sold just 45,321 PS3s. This 5-to-1 ratio was an increase of the 3-to-1 ratio reported in April. Nintendo isn't just outselling Sony in the console either, the Nintendo DS sold has sold 620,670 DS units, compared to only 123,673 Sony PSPs sold.
Has Nintendo won the console war (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2007/06/11/100083454/?postversion=2007053116)? Has Sony lost? Is there any possible way for Sony to recoup their investment?

I'm pleased to say that I've done my part to take down Sony. Twice. (I bought two and sold one to my boss.)
Alas, I'm ashamed to say that I still don't have a DS. When the price drops a bit more I'll be buying two probably (the kids'll fight over it if I only get one).

Yeah. The Wii is pretty much the greatest thing ever.

I haven't turned my Wii on in a month. And it is modded, so I can download and play any game I want. But nothing is out for the machine yet that entices me.
I'll fire it back up when RE comes out, or Mario Galaxy.
Overall, I'm disappointed with the controls. I want analog joysticks to play games with. I couldn't even get into Zelda with the bizarre combinations of hitting the '1', the '2', the plus, etc... In a few games, I've felt like their attempt to "simplify" gaming has failed.
I do love my DS, though. There haven't been any stellar games lately, but some of my best gaming moments over the last year were on my DS (and my PSP).
Maybe I'm out-growing gaming, but none of the three systems are living up to all of the "Next-Gen" hype. The games have the same problems, and the graphics are just slightly improved. Three of the best console games this past year were God of War 2, Final Fantasy XII, and Guitar Hero 2, all on a Last-Gen system. The only Next-Gen game I've played that made me excited was Gears of War, and when I heard how short the single-player was, that excitement drained away.
