FL - Lavon Rowells, 23, and his wife Christina, 24, were arrested Sunday and are facing child neglect charges. Police say a 3-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy were found wandering at the Rodeway Inn Motel Sunday night.
When detectives arrived, they were unable to locate the parents. Approximately four hours later, the couple returned to the motel. After an investigation, detectives say Christina was away working at Fantasy Dolls, when Lavon Rowells left the children to visit her.
The couple then left the club and went to a friend's house to play video games. Lavon told police he had been away for a short time because he was focused on playing video games and lost track of time.

Just an update... apparently this is finally going to court.
TAMPA — The toddlers were found wandering a hotel hallway, crying, police say.
One smelled of vomit and later threw up on a police officer who tried bathing her.
The other had diaper rash that had spread to his legs.
"The worst diaper rash I've ever seen," Tampa police Officer David Pagano told a judge Tuesday.
Parents Christina and Lavon Rowells left their sick 2- and 3-year-old children alone for at least four hours at Rodeway Inn on Fowler Avenue the night of May 3 and the morning of May 4, 2008, assistant State Attorney Daniel Amparo told Hillsborough County Circuit Judge Wayne Timmerman.
The Rowells are expected to be sentenced in the child neglect case on Thursday, though they were originally on the docket for sentencing Tuesday.
According to a police report Amparo read aloud in court, Lavon Rowells, 24, said he dropped his wife off at a strip club to work at 8:30 p.m., then went back to the hotel with the children. Around 9 p.m., after the children were asleep, he became bored, drove to the strip club and waited for his wife to get off work, then they went to friend's home to play video games.
In the meantime, an adult at the hotel discovered the children and hotel management called police.
Inside the room where the Lakeland family had been staying, investigators said they were met by a strong vomit odor, soiled sheets, hundreds of cotton swabs scattered over the floor and a can of shaving cream within the children's reach.
Christina Rowells. 26, didn't show Tuesday, prompting Timmerman to order police to pick her up and hold her in jail without bond until the newly scheduled Thursday hearing.
And though Lavon Rowells appeared on Tuesday, his attorney, Vanessa Nye, was tardy. Displeased that Nye was not in court, Timmerman asked his clerk make an on-the-record speaker-phone call to her office to summon her to court.
Nye apologized and said she mistakenly believed the hearing to be on Wednesday. Timmerman recessed until she arrived. Then he agreed to continue the sentencing until Thursday when Nye said she expects to call witnesses.

Why did they mention the shaving cream? Is it such a big deal that shaving cream, of all things, was in their reach? The rash and filth seem like pretty convincing indicators of their situation, but OH NO! BARBASOL!!! I got into shaving cream all the time when I was a little kid, and the only thing that happened was a mess and some wasted shaving cream. It's not tasty, so I don't see kids really eating enough to do any harm. Am I missing something here? They mention it like it's a loaded .38 or something.
That said, leaving a 2 year old and a 4 year old alone because he was "bored" is a pretty pathetic excuse, but both of these folks sound like pretty pathetic excuses for parents. Two more candidates for sterilization surgery, STAT! I bet if we offered them tickets to, say, a Shoney's breakfast bar they'd jump at the chance for a little snip-snip.

Little miss fucking baby factory never showed up for court, good cause her ass will end up in prison for allot longer now, Sew that bitches cooter shut for fucks sake. This isnt even the first time she had a run in with the cops of her kids.
TAMPA — A late-night escape to play video games as his toddlers roamed a motel hallway alone landed a Tampa father in prison for two years Monday.
Lavon Rowells must also serve five years of probation after prison, during which he can see his children only if child protection officials say so, Hillsborough Circuit Judge Wayne Timmerman ordered.
Rowells, 24, and his wife, Christina, 26, both pleaded guilty to two counts of child neglect and were scheduled to be sentenced together. But for the second time, Christina Rowells didn't show up.
Timmerman issued a warrant for her arrest when she failed to appear for sentencing July 21. He said that if authorities don't arrest her within 30 days, he intends to sentence her in her absence.
"She'd better have something good to say," Timmerman warned, expecting an explanation of her whereabouts.
Assistant State Attorney Daniel Amparo said Christina Rowells has a history of not showing up for court. Timmerman wanted to know who decided to release her from jail pending sentence. "You did," Amparo replied.
Prosecutors said the couple left their sick 2- and 3-year-old children alone for at least four hours at the Roadway Inn on Fowler Avenue the night of May 3 and the morning of May 4, 2008.
Amparo said the husband dropped his wife off at a strip club to work, then got bored at the motel and went back to visit her while their children slept unattended.
After Christina Rowells got off work, they went to Kentucky Fried Chicken, then to a friend's house to play the video game Grand Theft Auto, Amparo said.
Rowells said Monday for the first time in court that that was a lie crafted by his wife. The couple have filed for divorce and haven't spoken in some time, his attorney said. A police officer testified that Lavon Rowells told him he had gone to play video games, and a prosecutor said the defendant told a child protection investigator the same story
Lavon Rowells' grandmother said she wished the two had never married.
She testified that the couple met while attending Brewster Technical Center, where the grandmother taught.
"My staff and I did everything we could to discourage this relationship," Barbara Kelly said. "This young lady was constant trouble, trouble, trouble."
She said the school staff once found Christina Rowells in the boys bathroom.
"I don't put all the blame on her," Kelly said. "I've stood with students in court, but I've never thought I would have to stand with my grandson."
Lavon Rowells testified that he and his wife had an unstable living situation, so relatives had taken in their children. The weekend of their arrest, they had just gotten their children back and planned to move into a new apartment within days.
Instead, another resident at the motel found the children roaming the halls alone. The little boy had a stomach virus and the girl had been vomiting.
Vanessa Nye, Lavon Rowells' attorney, called his actions "horrible, irresponsible and ignorant" but said she believed what happened was an isolated incident.
Toni Collins, Lavon Rowells' aunt, has custody of his now 3-year-old son and an 8-month-old daughter born after the incident. Attorneys said Christina Rowells was pregnant at the time of her arrest on child neglect charges.
The eldest child, now 4, lives with her maternal grandmother.
"I don't think he's a criminal," Collins told the judge. "He just made a mistake."

if one more apologist for a child abuser says "he's not a criminal/bad person/child abuser/whatever" i swear i'll reach thru this screen and grab them by their chicken necks and slap them into next year. WTF.??? mommy doesn't think leaving tiny children alone to wander the halls of a motel isn't criminal behavior? stupid. brainless.

Someone should place a diaper on both of these idiots and not let them remove it for a month. So that they too can feel the pain and discomfort their child felt as the daper rash grew bigger and spread to his or her little legs. Selfish bitches having babies
