Thank you all for your welcomes. Yes, I have been stalking you all for a bit. I don't have a computer at home, just a psp for e-mail, so I really only stay on-line while at work, and that can be a bit on and off, depending on business.
This is JazzFest weekend tho, so I have a little time. I decided to register and will try to actually post more than 1 or 2 posts.

I don't perfectly understand this, either, but any computer you access the Internet with has its own "address," and admins here can see those addresses. I stopped lurking because I was afraid that the all-knowing and all-powerful Morbid would get tired of seeing my IPs show up and start putting up pictures of me or something!

No, Lizard, I am originally from New Jersey. I moved down to NOLA about 5 years ago. I fell in love with the city about 13 years ago when I first started to visit. I moved down as soon as my son graduated from highschool, I love the city, but the educational system leaves a bit to be desired. My son had the choice to stay in NJ or move with me and he decided to come along.
Hope that you have been back home to visit. If not, you should!
Things down here are pretty good. The festivals are back, things are coming together and people are optimistic to say the least. Can't say things are "normal", this is New Orleans and it has never been what the rest of America considers 'normal', but we are getting back to our usual (in)sanity.

I am one of those people that tries to read ALL the posts and comment on the ones I think (hope) I actually have something to say about. The important thing is the reading though, right? It's a respect thing at base, to all the other members. Plus, there are so many interesting posts on here. So, read 'em all.

I totally agree...but if you have a job, a significant other, children, any desire to ever shower again, etc., it just isn't possible to read them all any more. I've had to start being selective about what I read and using that handy "mark forums read" link.
