The trailer for the latest M. Night Shyamalan movie is out and it actually looks really good. I know, most trailers do, but the actual premise behind this film is very intriguing to me. The fact that this is an R-rated film and stars Mark Wahlberg just ramps up a bit of my interest. I usually try not to get to hyped up for any film (Doomsday really bit me in the ass), but Shyamalan films have always been kind of hit-or-miss with me. When I say miss, I mean I really didn’t like the damn thing. But I am ready to see what he can do now that he has gotten the whole Disney thing out of his system. Trailer after the jump.

It's always the same with M. Night Shyamalan. I become intrigued by the trailer. Anticipate the movie. Snore through the flick. Hate the twist. Swear to never watch another one in the theatre again....untill the next trailer.....

With the exeption of sixth sence which is decent yet higly overrated I fucking hate Manny Shyamalan's films, Im sure when I finally catch it on cable like the others(exept Lady in the water who I was foolish enuff to fall for the trailer) ill hate it just as much.

I'm convinced Unbreakable will be the only good movie Shamalammadingdong ever makes.

I'm with you...it happens to me every time. The only of his films I'm a real fan of, or stands up to repeat viewings for that matter, is Unbreakable. Once again though, this shit looks really promising. Here's to hoping...

This is his first rated R flick, and from the looks of that new trailer it's going to need it. I just can't shake the feeling that the twist is going to be something really retarded. Retarded, like....say....aliens attacking a planet that consists of 80% water when water melts their skin.....

I already know the twist for this one!
It's plants. They let out some sort of gas into the air and it makes people fill themselves... or something shit like that.

This is a re-enactment of a scene from M Night Shyamalan's new film.
A bunch of people just "dropped dead" amongst unsuspecting shoppers
in Pitt Street Mall on a sunny sunday afternoon! Kind of creepy!

Man. I really am the anti-critic. I didn't care for Unbreakable or The Sixth Sense, but enjoyed Signs and The Village. Haven't seen Lady In The Water, yet.

Oh well. I'm looking forward to this one.

BUMP!

M. Knight, you son of a bitch. Everytime you make a new movie I see the previews and the trailers and am again fooled into thinking your movies aren't for shit. I am late to the party as always and just watched your latest effort, The Happening, last night. Really, that is the best you could come up with? Plants? This is on par with cell phones attacking(Cell, by SK anyone?) I seriously hate you and your craptastic movies, but I hate myself more for letting you fuck me once again. Give me my $19.95 back, you owe me!!

(sorry. ranted there.)

i kinda liked this film. i didn't think it deserved an "R" rating, though. i like most of his movies. i should point out though, that when it comes to movies, i am so easy. i just love em. definitely wasn't one of his best. the sixth sense and unbreakable were his best, so far. ;)

the Happening was OK.. the ending was a bit anti-climatic though.. I generally like Shyamalan's movies.. didn't care for Unbreakable or Lady in the Water much, but really enjoyed Signs, The Village, and the 6th Sense.

I believe the R rating for this one comes from the violence, in his movies it's generally just implied violence..

I know I'll get booed on this one but I don't care. I actually liked the Happening. I thought it was interesting take on the oh so popular focus on our environment and consequences to destroying it. I've seen a lot of bad movies and this just isn't bad enough to put in the "bad" category. And of course I mostly enjoy M. Night Shyamalan movies.

But it is supposed too be entertainment. I love a good documentary about the enviroment, but not when it is supposed to be a horror flick. And isn't scary in the least. But I would never groan you.
