A toddler was left in critical condition at Oakland Children's Hospital after she allegedly was shaken by a Modesto man earlier this week.

Isaac Hayes Ramirez, 23, is accused of shaking the 14-month-old daughter of his roommate Tuesday.

Ramirez told police and emergency workers the girl had a seizure while playing with her brother. But the child was found to have symptoms of shaken baby syndrome, Modesto police said.
