Police: Boca woman smokes painkillers, passes out with toddler in back seat in Boynton
BOYNTON BEACH — With her 2-year-old son sitting in the back seat, a 24-year-old woman got high smoking prescription painkillers and then passed out in her driver's seat Thursday night, police said.
About 11:44 p.m., officers found Jessica Teri Lobig of Boca Raton slumped over the steering wheel of her 2007 Honda truck, which she had nosed into a spot outside Boca Tanning at 1035 W. Gateway Blvd. She and her 2-year-old son were soaked in sweat, according to an affidavit for Lobig's arrest.
Unsure if Lobig was still breathing, an officer opened the driver door and she came to. She told him she was "smoking blues," a street term for placing an oxycodone tablet on a square of tinfoil, heating the tinfoil with a cigarette lighter and inhaling the smoke through a straw.
A quick search of the Honda revealed a prescription bottle filled with Xanax and oxycodone tablets, a marijuana pipe and marijuana, the affidavit said.
The officer arrested Lobig on charges of child neglect, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of marijuana and transportation of paraphernalia.
