Plot Synopsis: The film revolves around Park Hee-bong (played by Byun Hee-bong), a man in his late 60s. Park runs a small snack bar on the banks of the Seoul's Han River and lives with his two sons, one daughter and one granddaughter. The Parks seem to lead a quite ordinary and peaceful life, or maybe a tad bit poorer than the average Seoulite. Hee-bong's elder son Gang-du (by Song Gang-ho) is an immature and incompetent man in his 40s, whose wife left home long ago. Nam-il (by Park Hae-il) is the youngest son, an unemployed grumbler, and daughter Nam-joo (by Bae Du-na) is an archery medalist and member of the national team. One day, an unidentified mutant suddenly appears from the depths of the Han River and spreads panic and death, and Gang-du's daughter Hyun-seo is carried off by the monster and disappears. All the family members are in a great agony as they have lost someone dearest to them. But as they find out she is still alive, they resolve to save her.

Sequel to 'The Host' Coming to Theaters 2009

Chungeorahm Film, the film production and distribution company of the blockbuster hit 'The Host,' plans to release a sequel to the film in 2009, according to the Korea Times.

But director Bong Joon-ho, the driving force of the original, will not join the film crew making 'The Host 2' as he has other plans.

"We'll start making the film from this fall,'' Choi Yong-bae, CEO of Chungeorahm, was quoted as saying by Yonhap News.

South Korean technical staff will make a 10-minute computer graphic (CG) test film this fall.

"We have gathered technical know-how from making `The Host,''' Choi said. The film was made in collaboration with foreign technical staff including some from the United States. ``I think we can use domestic CG technology this time.''

The budget will be about 10 billion won, similar to the previous film, and the same monster will be used.

I LOVED IT, until the end...That's where this movie took a giant nose dive...Those characters did all of that for nothing and only to replace on child with another...Lame...

I got one of these today and it's in English!!!

Not bad dubbing either! Now you can enjoy this film without reading!
Some movies are made for dubbing like Pan's and this!
To much going on to bother with reading for some people,
so more people will enjoy this film than just us fans that don't mind to read!
You wouldn't believe how many people come in Movie Gallery to get Pan's and put it back
when I tell them they have to read it!
