With all the burning children stories, thought this one deserved a spot here. No selfish bitch of a mother, no boyfriend baby killer, just a swift thinking babysitter, that had the well being of the children in mind she was caring for.
A babysitter safely evacuated two children (http://www.gainesville.com/article/20100328/articles/100329476&tc=yahoo) from a burning apartment in northwest Gainesville early Sunday, firefighters reported.

Two children, a 3-year-old and an 11-month-old, and their babysitter were at the home at the time. But the sitter was able to get the two children out of the residence before firefighters arrived. Both were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation and released.

Firefighters had the blaze extinguished within 10 minutes, according to Davis.
Damage at the home was "extensive," firefighters reported.
The blaze was described as a cooking fire, according to initial reports.
The absolute best part is no dead babies. I can't tell you how nice that was to read. Too bad there's no mention of the sitter's name, I would have looked her up and sent her a thank you message....yay baby sitter!!
