BAY MINETTE, Ala. -- Police arrested a man Thursday after he was accused of beating his 1-year-old daughter.
Gene Eldridge Dillard II, 34, of Bay Minette was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center Thursday night on a charge of torture or willful abuse of a child. He was released on $10,000 bail, jail records show.
According to the Bay Minette Police Department, officers responded about 7:15 p.m. Thursday to a report of possible abuse at the Queen Anne Apartments on North Dobson Avenue, where they found the girl with swelling and bruises on her face.
The baby's mother told officers that Dillard beat their daughter after she was seen playing with an electrical outlet in the home, according to police.
The girl was taken to the emergency room at North Baldwin Infirmary, where she was treated and released Thursday night, according to hospital spokeswoman Charlette Murphy.
The police and Department of Human Resources are investigating the case.

Asshole, the child doesn't understand what she was doing wrong and DEFINITELY doesn't deserved to be beat. On the other hand you DO! OMG, I hope since he was released doesn't mean he is going to be around his daughter.
