It's been a while since I've seen a good sci-fi flick in the theatre.

ZB needs to see this just for Chris Evans. She's a huge fan...

Anyway, any Brits on the site? It was released there long ago and I'm wondering what it's like and how it felt.

It's getting some really good reviews and a few really bad ones!

I still want to see it!

ZB needs to see this just for Chris Evans. She's a huge fan...Oh bite me. I just had to suffer through his cocky ass in FF: Silver Surfer last week. That's enough, thanks. :p

Besides, he would be sharply overshadowed by Cillian Murphy. Remember - I like my men a bit flawed, although Cillian's biggest flaw is his GAWD-AWFUL ugly ass wife. She is HEINOUS! Apparently all of the blogs have taken down pictures of the happy couple (good thing) but she is so fug that even if you've seen her picture before, you instinctively bring your hand to your mouth and gasp. She must give some Grade A head cause she is fuuuugly.

That said, I can't wait to see this movie. It has an "Event Horizon" vibe going for it.

I saw this on Monday. The movie has a Solaris feel to it for the first 2/3. Got that spiritual overtone to it. Then, very randomly, it switches tones (drastically!) to a slasher film.

The film is very pretty and the visuals are great except for the end where the captain of the first mission shows up and every time you see him on screen, its like someone thought, "Hey, we couldn't get this burn and scab make-up to work right so we'll just shake the camera and distort the colors so we don't have to show it. I also thought the slow motion and freeze-frame stuff got a little old after a while.
The acting was pretty solid (For me anyway) and I enjoyed it for the most part. I wish they would have fixed the tonal change a little bit (Changed the transition and made it more smoother...it literally comes out of no where) and answered some questions I have. I didn't feel, after finishing, that this was one of those films where "I don't need to know the origin of the characters or why they do what they do." I felt it should have explained more.
Anyway, this review probably doesn't make a lot of sense but Im trying not to spoil it for everyone.
