During the harrowing emergency call, the child pleaded with Los Angeles County sheriff's dispatchers to send help.

"Can you come really fast? Please! Please! . . . They have guns. They shoot my mom and dad," the boy said, according to a copy of the 911 tape (http://www.latimes.com/includes/misc/boy911tape.wav) released by authorities.

The incident began about 8:30 a.m. when the three suspects, armed with handguns, stormed through an unlocked door and said they were going to take what they wanted, the Sheriff's Department said.

The boy hid in the bathroom with his 6-year-old sister and locked the door.

"There's some guy who's going to kill my mom and dad," he told the emergency dispatcher. "Can you come, please?

"Bring cops . . . a lot of them! . . . And soldiers too," the boy said. He told the dispatcher that he thought his parents had been shot.

The attackers broke into the bathroom and found the boy. At that point, screaming is heard on the 911 tape.

Authorities said one of the suspects grabbed the boy and asked who he called. "911," the boy responded, according to the department.

The suspects fled without injuring anyone or taking any property, authorities said.http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-911-tape10-2010mar10,0,4564343.story

He and his sister were locked in the bathroom, but were eventually discovered by the robbers.
"You could just hear the fear in them, crying and screaming for help," the female 911 dispatcher who talked to the boy told KTLA.
The crooks, identified as three Hispanic men, demanded to know who the boy was talking to.
"911," he told them.
The three thugs quickly ran without taking a thing, and fled in what police believe was a gray Acura (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Acura). http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/2010/03/10/2010-03-10_boy_7_saves_parents_in_home_invasion_by_hiding_ in_bathroom_calling_911.html

I like the part where he wants soldiers, too. Goes to show that even though he was scared, he was brave, too

Authorities search for armed men in Norwalk home invasion reported by 7-year-old boy over cellphone
March 10, 2010 | 8:06 am

Authorities searched Wednesday for three armed attackers who a 7-year-old boy said broke into his family's Norwalk home and threatened his parents as he hid in a bathroom with his 6-year-old sister and called 911.
"There's some guy who's going to kill my mom and dad," the boy told dispatchers during the Tuesday morning break-in. "Can you come, please? Bring cops ... a lot of them! ... And soldiers too."

The boy told dispatchers he thought his parents had been shot.

The incident began about 8:30 a.m. when three suspects armed with handguns stormed through an unlocked door and said they were going to take what they wanted, L.A. County sheriff's officials said.

The boy hid in the bathroom with his sister, locked the door and called 911, officials said, until the attackers broke into the bathroom and found them.

At that point, screaming is heard on the 911 tape. Authorities said one of the suspects grabbed the boy and asked whom he called.

"911," the boy responded, according to the department.

The suspects fled without injuring anyone or taking any property, authorities said.

"If not for the brave and educated actions of the 7-year-old boy, this might have ended tragically," said Capt. Pat Maxwell of the Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said the suspects fled in a gray two-door Acura RSX. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (562) 863-8711.

I would gladly send my son for this wee one. He's a cop and a soldier and could probably learn a bunch about bravery from this boy.
(not that my son is a chickenshit, but one can never have too few examples)

How very brave. I hope he we not live in fear for the rest of his life. This kind of incident can be very traumatic for young kids. Lets hope the children get good help.
