Police in eastern Indiana say two men riding four-wheelers Friday afternoon found what have been determined to be human remains.
The discovery was made near an abandoned railroad near the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond, Indiana.
Police don't know whether the remains belong to a male or female.
Investigators from Indianapolis will continue the investigation this weekend, police say.
Marilyn McCown has been missing from Richmond, IN since July 2001... probably others but that is the only listing for that area I found at http://www.theyaremissed.org/ncma/index.php She was born in the early 1970's. There was no other info on this, nothing to tell whether it was the bones of an adult frame. I hope to find more on this over or after the weekend... hopefully they can identify who this is and family and friends can begin to step toward closure.

RICHMOND, Indiana -- Authorities have released new information about a case where human remains were found near the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond.

A forensic anthropologist from Indianapolis is working on the case. He said the remains are those of a white man who is over the age of 50.

So far, investigators do not know the man’s identity, but say the remains had been near the fairgrounds for at least two years.

At this time, police said they have no evidence that indicates foul play.

The skeletal remains were found on Friday by a group of men who were riding their ATV’s. Officials said the remains were found near some abandoned railroad tracks.

Looks like it isn't Marilyn McCown, then.

Guess they need to start looking in neighbouring areas, - and further afield. If he is right by the fair, he could have been a carnie. He could be from anywhere in that case.
