When HD DVD went under someone, I believe it was Mike, asked what was going to happen to such "lesser known films" as Batman: Begins, now that the format is gone.

Well ... we've still got a little bit longer to wait but Batman: Begins is headed to Blu-Ray! Coming July 8th, Batman: Begins will be available in standard (who needs that!) and limited edition versions (now thats more like it!)

Extras include 12 featurettes (including: "Genesis of the Bat", "Batman: The Journey Begins", "Path to Discovery", "Saving Gotham City", "Shaping Mind and Body", "Gotham City Rises", "Cape and Cowl", "Batman: The Tumbler"), the "Tankman Begins" MTV spoof, "Confidential Files" (text and images), and theatrical trailers.

Most importantly, exclusive to the Blu-ray release will be the complete six-minute prologue from upcoming theatrical release of 'The Dark Knight', which is set to hit theaters on July 18th.

The limited edition version of the film will contain Batman Begins motion art lenticular, script pages, exclusive photos, storyboards, five collectible Batman Begins postcards, and $7.50 in movie cash toward a Dark Knight ticket.

Damn, I thought we were going to talk about this Batman movie...

Anyway, the limited edition Blu-Ray set puzzles me. If you buy the standard def. gift set, you also get a 128MB flash drive with images from The Dark Knight.

WTF? What about Blu-Ray owners? I spend an extra $10 for my set and you don't give me the flash drive? What gives?

That is weird.

Then again, a 128MB flash disc is about as throw-away as a floppy these days. I saw a little saucer at my gas station right beside the register, it was full of them. If you needed a 128MB flash drive, you could take one, otherwise you could leave one for somebody else. It was sad.

I can't wait for Batman Begins on Blu-Ray. I hope they add some internet functionality.
