First off, the highlights:
It will come out for all systems, including the PS2 and they will all have wireless controllers

Strategic partnerships have been secured with all the major and independent music record labels and publishers; more original recordings.
Exclusive Gibson guitars with customizable guitars with removable faceplates and new button color scheme. And here is a sampling of the track list. Note how many say "by" and not "as made famous by":
Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones)

Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)

Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)

Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)Well, as a fan of the first and the second, I have no doubt I will once again be plunkin' down the dough for what looks to be the best version of the game yet. Especially like seeing Sabatoge, Paint it Black, Cherub Rock and The Metal...and from what it looks like, the actual songs.

Oh my fucking god man. I'm so pumped for Paint It Black. I swear to you, my friend was at my house 2 days ago trying to play GH2 with me and I told him that it would be awesome if Paint It Black was on the next game.

Sabotage should be awsome, that song already makes me wanna smash everything around me. now you can smash a wireless toy guitar too!

They should also make the 3rd game 3D! Rockin around the livingroom with cool ass 3d glasses rockin with a toy guitar!

That song is one of the ones I am most happy about seeing on the list. Plus it will be the real song, not a cover.

So what's the appeal of this game for all you guys? :)

I tried to play it a few times and I couldn't get into it. And I tried it sober and drunk! :)

As a music lover, it has a lot to do with being a good game revolving around music. That, and the challenge of actually being able to perform a song. Some of them, while hard as hell, are just fun to play. This also leads to the feeling of accomplishment when you finally nail a song that had been kicking your ass for days.

Now, how that feeling of accomplishment ranks in the grand scheme of life, I wouldn't know, but regardless, it's fun.

I don't want to make a new thread for this, but I am PUMPED!!!...

The new Les Paul inspired guitar design has been unveiled and man is it beautiful. IGN (http://gear.ign.com/articles/792/792876p1.html) had the first chance to check out the new controller that will (in the 360 version) work with both GH3 and GH2 (your old wired 360 guitar will work as well). And being that this is the first third party to be given rights to make a wireless controller for the 360... This should be well worth the price.

The button layout is now much more similar to that of the PS2 version. The new color scheme they mentioned is just that the buttons (frets) are now filled with black. I love the look it gives. Another great addition is the ability to remove the faceplate and apparently even the neck of the guitar. The faceplate will make the guitars much more customizable (can we say Zakk Wylde bullseye anyone?). The ability to remove the neck via a spring loaded switch is quite appealing to me as well. It makes it easier to store and opens up a bunch of other options as well.

It may end up costing a good bit, but I'll definitely be getting myself one of these when they are released later this year.

I was curious as to how they were planning on changing the buttons, and I must say I love this new design.

I played Guitar Hero for the first time yesterday and it frustrated the shit out of me to the point of me giving up. I can play the guitar and one of my other friends that guit-fiddles said he had the same problem initially but overcame it.
