Prince William County Police are investigating the double homicide of a mother and child in Dale City.
The victims have been identified as 41-year-old Slavka P. Naydenova and her eight-year-old son, Paul A. Wilson. He was a second grade student at Porter Traditional School in Dale City.
Officer Erika Hernandez, spokesperson for the Prince William County Police Department, says the woman's husband made the gruesome discovery shortly before 11:00 Monday night at their home. Hernandez would not give the husband's name, but did say they were questioning him as well as other people.
A man who said he was a friend of Slavka came to pick up his vehicle at the home Tuesday. He says he came to know her because of their mutual Bulgarian heritage. The friend said Slavka's husband called him Monday night and asked him to pick him up at the Springfield Metro station. He said the husband, whose name is Philip, according to the friend, told him that he was worried about his wife because she told him she had let a stranger into the house to use the bathroom.
The friend said police had been questioning him, but he was not worried.
Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert tells 9NEWS NOW's Peggy Fox that the double murder does not appear to be random, and they hope to make an arrest soon.

Probably both.
Q: What has lots of holes and smells like the back end of a bull?
A: Either Swiss cheese in a pile of manure, or this man's story.

Now it gets weird:
The murder of Bulgarian Slavka Neykova and her 8-year-old son has been committed by the wife of her former husband.
Neykova, who is the sister of Bulgarian tycoon Iliya Pavlov who was assassinated in Sofia in March 2003, was killed together with her son Paul Wilson in their home in Dale City, Virginia, late Monday night.
47-year-old Natalia Wilson was already arrested and charged with the murder but her relation to the victim had not been announced.
According to sources close to the Neykova family, Natalia Wilson is the second wife of Slavka Neykova’s first husband.http://www.novinite.com/view_news.php?id=112732
No other info right now. I'll keep an eye on it. Wonder what happened to the bathroom dude.

Police don't know what made Natalia Wilson allegedly snap. But they say the reported mail-order bride from Russia killed her husband's 8-year-old son and his ex-wife from Bulgaria on Monday night in Dale City.
The women had no known confrontations before Monday night, when Slavka P. Naydenova, 41, and her son, Paul A. Wilson, were fatally stabbed, according to Prince William police and law enforcement sources. The bodies were discovered by Naydenova's current husband just after 11 p.m.
Investigators would not talk about motives in the case, declining to say whether the crime was over money, love, jealousy or something else. Police are looking into reports that Wilson was a mail-order bride and are investigating how Naydenova met her ex-husband.
[...]
The victim had been married to Arlington real estate agent Lester Wilson, who has not been charged in the case. The suspect is his wife.
[...]
Natalia Wilson has been married to Lester Wilson for less than a year, Kelly said. Kelly, who lives in Perth Amboy, said she met her brother's new wife only once.
"I didn't get the sense she was unstable," Kelly said. "Her English wasn't very good, so we couldn't communicate very well."
Naydenova and Lester Wilson were married for about nine years and had one son, Paul. The couple remained friends after their divorce, Kelly said.

A woman accused of killing a mother and her young son in Dale City this week was fueled by jealousy, court documents state.
[...]
According to a criminal complaint on file in Prince William General District Court, Wilson “was jealous of her husband’s relationship with Slavka.”
Wilson’s husband, Lester, is Slavka Naydenova’s ex-husband.
The criminal complaint also states that Natalia Wilson lied to police during the investigation about where she was during the killings.
“Evidence collected revealed that Natalia was in fact in the area of Hanover Court during the time of the murders,” the court document states.
Wilson is due in Prince William General District Court on March 1 for a preliminary hearing.
Police are investigating whether Wilson was a mail-order bride, and if she is in the United States legally. She is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail.

Current "mail order" bride is jealous of her husbands previous bride even though she has remarried? It sounds like she was jealous of the son but there has to be more to this.
And Pete, I am going out on a limb here and say that "ladies" who agree to marry strangers aren't likely to be picky about skin color or at least care more about the color of money than that of skin.
From The Washington Post:
Naydenova moved to Europe with Paul for several years, and Lester Wilson would go for two to three months at a time to spend time with his son, according to his sister.
"Paul was his baby," Kelly said. "He also did anything he could to maintain a good relationship with his ex-wife."
Naydenova, who was a U.S. citizen, moved back to Virginia in part to enroll Paul in school and also so he could be near his father, Kelly said.
Lester Wilson has two older sons and an ex-wife in Australia, Kelly said. She said the family, originally from Aruba, hopes that he will come to New Jersey, where he spent his teen years and has a support network.
"This comes as such a shock," she said. "I'm hoping we can bring him here and calm him down and talk to him to find out what happened."
Police said they are still investigating whether Natalia Wilson, who is not a U.S. citizen, is in the country legally.
They also are trying to determine how Natalia Wilson got from Arlington to Naydenova's Dale City home, in the 4500 block of Hanover Court. Naydenova bought the home with Lester Wilson eight years ago, police said.
"It's unclear whether someone drove her there -- maybe an acquaintance -- or she maybe hired somebody," said Prince William Police Chief Charlie T. Deane.
Deane said he was pleased that police made an arrest the day after the crime. In the first few hours, it was "truly a whodunit kind of case," he said, partly because of language barriers.

I am shocked it wasn't the current husband...is anyone else with me on that? "My wife let a stranger in to use the bathroom" goes to show u that sometimes the truth really is stranger then fiction. I am glad they caught the crazy looking skank that did this or the poor husband would be rotting in jail professing his innocence. What a horribly tragic event. I hope the family and friends r able to pick up the pieces and move on.

Wow, this guy must be loaded what with the whole BUYING WIVES thing.
I mean, full of scruples and all.
I'm sure he certainly had nothing to do with this. It was entirely his new wife's idea. You know, the one who can barely speak english.
The one who can easily be replaced in a year once he selects another model.
Yeah. I'm positive the husband had nothing to do with this

After over 20 hours in a police interrogation room on a snowy February night two years ago, Natalia Wilson confessed to the violent stabbing deaths of 41-year-old Slavka Naydenova and her 8-year-old son, Paul Wilson, court documents show.
The mother and son were found dead in their Hanover Court home in Dale City on Feb. 1, 2010, stabbed over 50 times, their throats slashed.
After a lengthy interrogation, Wilson – a mail-order Russian bride who was married to Naydenova’s ex-husband and Paul’s father -- told police she was jealous of her husband’s relationship with his ex-wife. She said she went to confront Naydenova, and a violent fight broke out, leaving Naydenova and Paul dead.
Now a judge will decide whether or not that confession will be allowed into evidence at Wilson’s capital murder trial.
Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney Paul Ebert has said he will seek the death penalty if Wilson is convicted in the killings. It would be the first time the veteran prosecutor has requested capital punishment for a woman.
[...]
Slavka Naydenova lived in the United States with her first husband, Lester Wilson, and the two bought the house on Hanover Court in Dale City in 2000. Sometime after the birth of their son, Paul, the two divorced.
When Naydenova’s brother, billionaire Iliya Pavlov, was shot to death in Bulgaria in 2003, she returned for his funeral There, Naydenova met her second husband. The two returned to the U.S. and lived in the house on Hanover Court.
On Feb. 1, 2010, Naydenova’s husband and his friend found her and 8-year-old Paul dead when they returned home around 11 p.m. Naydenova’s husband told police that he had spoken to his wife on his cell phone earlier that night and she told him a woman who spoke Russian was at their house and had asked to use the bathroom.
Naydenova’s husband said he lost the call when he went through a tunnel and Naydenova never showed up at the Springfield Metro station to pick him up, as they had planned. When he and his friend returned home, they found the bodies and called police.
According to court documents, police soon after went to the Arlington house where Natalia Wilson and her husband—Naydenova’s ex-husband and Paul’s father—lived to notify them of the slayings and then took them both the police station for further interviews, which began just before 4 a.m.
In court documents, prosecutors said police noticed that Wilson had cuts on her hands, which she said she got while slicing a pineapple earlier that day.
Prosecutors said Wilson initially denied being in Dale City that day, but cell phone records show that she was.
“In the light of the mounting evidence establishing that the defendant was very stoically lying to the police… she was interviewed on an off over the following 18 hours until about 9:15 p.m., when the defendant was placed under arrest,” prosecutors wrote in court documents.
Then, according to court documents and a transcript of her interview with police, which was conducted with the aid of a Russian translator, Wilson confessed to the crimes.
In the interview, Wilson told police she went to Naydenova’s house and asked to use the bathroom, without telling her who she was. A short time later, Wilson told Naydenova that she was her ex-husband’s current wife.
“I want to ask you a lot of questions,” Wilson said she told Naydenova. “Why is my husband here so often?”
Wilson told police that Naydenova got angry and told her to leave. She said Naydenova started to scream and ran at her with a knife and Wilson grabbed her hands.
“She was saying, ‘I will kill you,’” Wilson said. “I was scared, I was terrified and I was feeling hatred.”
Wilson told police she did not remember exactly what happened, but, after a struggle, Naydenova and Paul, who ran into the room when his mother yelled for him, were dead of multiple stab wounds.
In court documents, police and prosecutors say that Wilson killed Naydenova out of jealousy and killed Paul because he ran into the room. Defense attorneys argue that Wilson only confessed to the crimes because of stress of the police interrogation and say that police did not fully investigate other suspects.
A judge could rule on the motion sometime this month.

OK, one out of two mail order brides turns out to be a psycho (even though no one could know that b/c her English was so bad). If I were this guy, I don't think I'd be trying for a third, with #2 being a homicidal maniac and #1 being dead, of course. I'd definitely think twice before thinking that the third time might be the charm.

MANASSAS, Va. (AP) - An Arlington woman will serve life in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of capital murder, including her husband's 8-year-old child.
Forty-eight-year-old Natalia Wilson admitted Tuesday that she killed a woman she perceived as a romantic rival, 41-year-old Slavka Naydenova of Dale City, and Naydenova's son, Paul Wilson.
Prince William County prosecutor Paul Ebert said Wilson was married to Naydenova's ex-husband and jealous of the attention she received.
Court documents indicate Naydenova was stabbed more than 50 times and the boy's throat was slashed. [...]
The plea deal spares Wilson a potential death sentence.
Naydenova was the sister of Iliya Pavlov, a Bulgarian billionaire who was shot and killed in 2003 after testifying at the murder trial of a former prime ministerhttp://www.wric.com/story/19454528/va-woman-gets-life-sentence-for-killing-woman-child
