HOUSTON --
A registered sex offender has been accused of raping, beating and robbing an 80-year-old southwest Houston woman, KPRC Local 2 reported Tuesday.Henry Price Jr., 47, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and aggravated robbery. Investigators said he tied up and raped the 80-year-old in her home on Tanager Street on Nov. 23.
Police said they believe Price stole the victim's car and left it in a parking lot. The car's radio was tuned to a gospel station.
Detectives said Price apparently listened to the religious music after he committed the crime.
A composite sketch of the attacker was released last month.
Neighbors were relieved to hear of the arrest.
"The elderly -- they're not looked after enough as it is. A lot of them live on their own. They don't have anybody to fall back on, so if someone's vicious enough to attack someone who's elderly, they need to definitely pay to the highest standard of the law," neighbor Cliff English said.
The 80-year-old victim was so traumatized by the attack, she moved away, neighbors said.
Houston police said DNA evidence from the victim was entered into a database. Detectives said they found a match with Price,
Another elderly woman was attacked nearby a few weeks after this crime. At first, police believed the attacks were committed by the same person, but Price has only been charged in one case.
Price was staying with his sister when the 80-year-old was attacked. She lives a few block from the victim's home.
The Texas Department of Corrections said Price was recently paroled after serving several years for burglary and drug possession. http://www.click2houston.com/news/22348294/detail.html# http://i46.tinypic.com/28upp4h.jpg
