Batman: Gotham Knight is a 2008 animated direct-to-DVD anthology film of six animated short films set in-between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Directed by Bruce Timm, co-creator and producer of Batman: The Animated Series, the film's six segments are written by Josh Olson, David Goyer, Brian Azzarello, Greg Rucka, Jordan Goldberg, and Alan Burnett. Each segment has its own writing and artistic style, just as numerous artists work in the same DC Universe. Deadshot, Killer Croc, and the Scarecrow have all been confirmed to appear in the film. Also, a trailer for the film features a creature that look like a giant bat, possibly Man-Bat.

The animated Batman DVD will look amazing, judging from the clips you can see in this promo reel. Batman: Gotham Knight will come out when Batman: The Dark Knight hits the big screen.

I don't really know what this is or what to think but it says these six animated short movies that connect to one another are to have taken place between Batman Begins and the new movie this summer The Dark Knight. Sounds kinda cool if you ask me and Kyle will get a stiffy when he hears of this! ;)

Thanks for the heads up, Looks fucking awsome.

Batman Animated was the most kick ass cartoon ever. Its a shame they eventually changed to "The Batman" instead of just continuing with the same style and storyline.

Somewhat related, those Marvel straigth to video animated movies are quite cool(Avengers1&2, Iron Man, Dr Strange), If you havent, check em out.

It kind of sucks they are going with "Ultimates" for most stuff instead of the classics but they are really entretaining, especially the Dr Strange one, Plus there is no Strange flick on the horizon so its cooler to be able to see him on the screen at least like this than a guy like Iron man that will have his live action flick...

Havent seen the Hellboy animated flick but I hear its great, any of you fellas seen that one already?

I have only watched the first animated Hellboy, Sword of Storms. It actually is as great as you've heard. Ron Perlman and Selma Blair return to voice act their respective parts so there is no weird feeling of some other voice actor trying tosound like Ron.

It looks really good, has a really good story, and is just good. I've not seen the 2nd one yet but I'm sure it'd be just as good as the first.

Thanks Kyle, I hadnt even realised there were two. I really need to check em out.

About the batman video, im loving the fact they are using Killer Crock and Manbat, those would likley never end in the current more realism based type of live action, especially Manbat.

Just saw this mother fucker, The animation is down rigth amazing, it changes radically from one short to the other, not just in style but in character design as well, but every single one is quite cool with gorgeous backdrops.

The stories however are with a few exeptions fairly tied together, Almost all of em relate to each other a little bit.

ManBat is not in the film, The ManBat like creature is just a young girl's recount of how Batman looked to her when she saw him.
