PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia police are hunting for an escaped prisoner who is charged with murder.
Officials say 27-year-old Oscar Alvarado got away from the Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility in northeast Philadelphia around 6 p.m. Thursday.
He was being held on murder charges.
Police say Alvarado is 5-feet-7, about 160 pounds, and has multiple tattoos on his left forearm and bicep as well as a tattoo of a woman on his back. He may be wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt.
Authorities didn't say how Alvarado escaped. They say anyone who spots him should call 911.
