CASSELTON, N.D. -- Boomer may be a buster: Measuring 3 feet tall at the shoulders and 7 feet long from nose to destructive wagging tail, he might be the world's tallest living dog. Owner Caryn Weber says her 3-year-old Landseer Newfoundland keeps all four paws on the floor when he drinks from the kitchen faucet in her family's eastern North Dakota farm house.

Boomer stares into car windows eye to eye with drivers. A 20-pound bag of dry dog food lasts the 180-pound canine a couple of weeks.

Weber says her furry black and white dog "comes into the house and his tail is so high everything gets knocked around."

Weber plans to send Boomer's measurements to Guinness World Records. The previous record holder was a nearly 4-foot-tall Great Dane that died this summer.

When you’re the biggest dog in the world, you make your own rules.

You cruise by countertops of an outdoor kitchen and adjacent barbecue and lower your calf-sized head a notch to sniff out any crumbs from a recent party.

You nuzzle up to a bystander, easing your floppy, foot-long ears into the middle of his chest to request some lovin’.

You saunter up to a couch, twist your 42-inch-tall, 245-pound body into a puppy pirouette and land your rump on your owner’s lap to take a load off.

O'Rourke added that they're going public with their Guinness quest because of a recent news story about Boomer, the Landseer Newfoundland in North Dakota whose owner is trying to get Boomer listed in the Guinness World Records as the tallest dog. Boomer is 3 feet tall at the shoulders.

But Boomer's mom is not too upset.


Boomer’s owner, Caryn Weber, said Saturday they aren’t throwing in the towel just yet.

She said Boomer’s bid to be the world’s tallest dog is well along in the application process and while there might be larger canines out there, the race may come down to time, not dimension.

At least temporarily.

“If we even held it (the title) for an hour, it might be fun,” said Weber, who added she is also in the process of submitting Boomer as a contender for the world’s longest dog.

The record holder is just over 7 feet long from nose to tail, according to Weber, who said when Boomer is measured at his home, “We consistently go over 7 feet.

Now listen here, missy, I've seen many dog dicks, and those rumors just aren't true. Just like the many men's dicks I've...er, heard about, there is no correlation between hand OR foot size and penis size.

And I'm a foster parent for a shelter, so NYAH. Like I'm gonna be hitting on Rover for a little sumpin' sumpin'.

This Great Dane may have HAD the biggest dick, but he is dead.
My Dog has big paws, and I see no correlation. Then again she has no dick.
