Post movies here that you thought may have been good but was NOT!

I'm still going to give Pan's Labyrynth another watch before I give up on it!

But EPIC MOVIE was so bad I couldn't finish it! I know, big surprise,
but I did enjoy Scary Movies 3 and 4...
They were at least clever and acted like they were tryin to entertain!
EPIC Movie is just plain BAD not one funny thing in it...
Ok the part where Superman gets shot in the eye, That was funny.
And that's why I thought this might be Scary Movie funny!

It's Not!

I should have added to this thread. It wasn't nearly the worst film I have ever watched, but for all the hype and hoopla surrounding it, I will have to add Dreamgirls.

It did have some positive moments, which as mentioned before I can't remember what they were. I was surprised at how good Eddie Murphy was (not Oscar caliber though). J. Hudson can sing too. uh ... that's about it folks. Most definitely overrated and NOT worthy of a best Picture nom as some critics bitched about. I liked Chicago more and I pretty much didn't like it either ... or Moulin Rouge too. They don't make good musicals anymore. Last one I liked was Dancer in the Dark (w/ Bjork) - AWESOME , WEIRD movie. If you haven't seen it, RENT it!

I knew it would be bad but nothing came into Movie Gallery this week...
so I gave it a shot! Clive Barker? WTF? It wasn't bad until the end!
It had one of those endings that just makes you stupider for seeing it!

Hmm, the most recent examples to come to mind:

August Underground: Penance - I absolutely loved the two films which came before it. Hell, I even found Murder Set Pieces to be decent. So I'm certainly not somebody looking to be critical of Frightflix. But this film was pathetic. It was far more mild than any of their previous works, and far less entertaining. I had trouble making myself sit through it, not because it was graphic, which it wasn't, but because it was so damn bad.

Sinfonia Erotica - Jess Franco, whether one likes him or not, is among Spain's most important directors. So, considering that, and my taste for exploitation films, I've seen a fair number of his movies, as I imagine, have many of you. Very few are truly impressive, with mediocrity being the standard. But this far more obscure Franco entry was supposed to be a more intelligent, better acted adaptation of a De Sade work, which is usually his strength. Much to my dismay, it was the worst film from him that I've ever seen. It made Lust for Frankenstein look like Eugenie De Sade.

Thanks. I have yet to check it out. I liked the first two as well, and also did not hate Murder Set Pieces. I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it. But I guess I will watch this at a later date. At least complete the trilogy.

Why did you guys like about August Underground? Beyond gore, I thought they were absolute shit.

Beyond gore

I didn't go much further than that. Also, they were different and at times, convincing.

The thing is, I love movies that are well acted and have a strong plot. This fails in the latter respect. But that is fine. Because I also sometimes want less serious, more entertainment-oriented focused. And I like to be shocked. That hasn't yet happened, but the first two films came close to doing so, as compared to their peers. I've seen a handful of fake snuff films, mostly of the Asian variety, and none of them look as convincing, or are as brutal, as the first two films were. Sadly, the third one lacked that, making it utterly worthless.
