Well, it looks as if we may be seeing a Starcraft 2. Rumors are flying on the eve of Blizzard (http://www.dreamindemon.com/forums/www.blizzard.com) making some sort of "secret game" announcement in front of a large group of South Korean gamers at their Worldwide Invitational. Another MMORPG is probably not in the cards as WoW is doing exceptional already. Also, some have pointed out the newly registered Starcraft2.com (http://www.starcraft2.com) is now up. Also, last year, Blizzard Chief Operation Officer Paul Sams stated that there will be a "major project announcement in 2007" as well as
"StarCraft is my absolutely favorite game of all time. As you probably already know, there is no doubt that we will continue the StarCraft and Diablo franchise, and trust me, I will be the happiest person in the world when we announce StarCraft 2."
Now obviously none of this truly means anything definite, as Blizzard has stayed quiet on the subject aside from letting everyone know about the announcement in general, but what do you think? Are all these Starcraft (http://www.dreamindemon.com/forums/www.blizzard.com/starcraft/) fanatics finally getting their wish after all these years?
Does seem awfully convenient to be announcing this secret game in South Korea since Starcraft players over there are treated like celebrities as well as the fact that as of 2006, over a third of total sales, or 3.5 million copies of Starcraft, have been sold in South Korea alone.
