Spartanburg, SC (WSPA) - A missing 15-year-old is being sought by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office says that 15-year-old Melissa Ann Simpson was last seen on Tuesday at the University School in Spartanburg. Simpson, who is in the custody of the Department of Social Services, is believed to be in danger because she requires four shots of insulin each day for diabetes.

The Sheriff Office says they believe Simpson is with 29-year-old Daniel Scott Martin, who has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Simpson is a former Byrnes High student and has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a yellow t-shirt and blue jeans. The Sheriff's Office says that she may have cut her hair short.

Martin drives a red Chevy S-10 pickup truck that is possibly a lowrider.

If anyone has any information as to their whereabouts, they are asked to call the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office at 864... or 911

Spartanburg County authorities arrested a man Friday afternoon and charged him with harboring a 15-year-old girl missing since Tuesday. The teen was found unharmed in Jonesville Friday, authorities said.

Daniel Scott Martin, 29, with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was booked at Spartanburg County jail about 3:05 p.m. Friday.

Deputies on Thursday obtained an arrest warrant accusing Martin of "knowingly and willfully harboring the victim who is listed as missing/endangered" on Wednesday.

Spartanburg County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Tony Ivey said Martin was arrested during a traffic stop near his residence, and he supplied deputies with a Jonesville address as a possible location of the teen's whereabouts. Ivey said Spartanburg and Union County deputies, along with Jonesville Police officers, located the teen at that residence Friday afternoon.
