Two parents were arrested in the death of their 4-month old son, whose gaunt body was found in a swing inside their filthy apartment, authorities said.

Daniel Bechtel weighed just four pounds, and bones jutted out of his skin, police Sgt. Joel Tranter said.

"Obviously this condition didn't happen overnight," Tranter said. "This child had not been fed or cared for very much at all in its very short life, and it took some time for this child to die."

Katherine Hatten, 22, and Thaddeus Adam Bechtel, 29, were arrested Wednesday night, Tranter said. The Maricopa County Public Defender's Office said it had not yet assigned attorneys to the case.

Officers found Daniel dead after responding to a 911 call about an unresponsive child Tuesday morning. Tranter said the couple's apartment was filthy, with trash covering the floor.

A court document said ants and cockroaches were crawling all over the apartment and on Daniel.

Me too Lizard.....I raised mine and watched friends and relatives kids the biggest part of my life...Had twenty one at one time most days. Not once did I ever think of harming one of those precious beings. I loved watching them grow and learn new things, and believe me, they taught me a lot....like you can slide a peanut butter sandwich just about anywhere, crayons make excellent clothing dye, perminate markers make good Halloween makeup, all things will come apart in a million pieces (especially electronics) and the other hundred things I learned from them. They are so cute, even when they have done something wrong, just looking at those sad eyes just breaks my heart so it is near impossible to punish them. I just don't see how these people can go about their daily lives without taking care of their baby, letting it die in this horrible way.

I'd love to know if these bastards are going to fry. If NOT I'll gladly do it. PLEASE, PLEASE, I'll do it!!. I followed this story at the beginning and have not found any new info as of date. This terrible, terrible act of child neglect and abuse just haunts me. There are some stories I just can't get out of my mind and this is one of them. These people are not human. Anyone capable of slowly starving a infant is a sick, evil fuck. I just can't believe something like this happened to an innocent baby. Please just die and stop breathing the air we all breath!:shocked3:
