David McLaughlin: The Dollar General Bandit?

LeFlore County Sheriff Bruce Curnutt says David McLaughlin was arrested Tuesday morning at a Dollar General store in Heavener. Curnutt says McLaughlin was found hiding under insulation between two walls in the building.

Authorities say tens of thousands of dollars has been stolen this summer from safes at more than 40 Dollar Generals in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Tennessee and Mississippi.

Curnutt says McLaughlin was carrying a police scanner and burglary tools — leading police to suspect he may have been involved in the other robberies.

OMFG!!!

It's funny and it's not. I worked for Dollar General for over 5 years. I know their policies and how cheap they are. I'll just bet there have been lots of managers fired because of this dumb ass.

This happened at a store I worked at, a man hid in the stock room and waited til everyone was gone and broke into the office, but was not able to get into the safe. He escaped out the fire doors in the back room. He was caught pretty quick cause he was real stupid but, of course, it was all the manager's fault. You can walk the store and stock room but if they're really hiding then there's not much you can do.

I can rant about DG forever but I'll spare you this time!!LOL

insulation is itchy. I would have found a better hidding spot.....or better yet not rob places!
