Hollywood Police arrested Anton Jamar Josey Thursday morning and charged him with Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and two traffic infractions.
Fort Lauderdale police say Josey kidnapped his ex-girlfriend, 23-year old Dominque Duval, at gunpoint on Wednesday night as she was leaving her job around 11:00 p.m. at 6406 NW 5th Way in Fort Lauderdale.
Witnesses told police Josey had a silver handgun when he approached Duval. He dragged her into his car, a dark-colored Mercedes Benz, and fled the scene.
About twenty minutes later, Hollywood police spotted the Mercedes Benz speeding southbound on South 28th Avenue. When officers tried to pull the car over, it abruptly pulled into a Shell Gas Station at 2801 Pembroke Road. A woman, identified as Duval, jumped out of the passenger side of the car holding her neck which was bleeding profusely and ran toward the officers.
When Josey got out of the car, the probable cause affidavit states an officer asked him "What happened to her, why is she bleeding?" and Josey told him he shot her. In the affidavit given by the officer, the officer states Josey told him he shot Duval "because the bitch gave me HIV."
Josey was taken into custody without incident and police recovered a handgun from inside the car.
Duval was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead from an apparent gunshot wound. http://cbs4.com/local/Dominique.Duval.Antoine.2.1146517.html
