SEATTLE -- Federal agents are asking for the public's help locating a young girl whose name is not known.
"We do believe that she is potentially endangered and we want to identify her as quickly as possible and make sure she is safe," said FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele.
Officials believe the girl, who has light brown hair and blue eyes, was 4 to 6 years old at the time the picture was taken. The picture's time stamp indicates it was taken in August 2006.
Investigators do not know where the girl is from, but said she could be in Seattle or farther south near Portland.
FBI agents in Portland who launched the search for the girl revealed little about the case, saying only that the search is a part of an ongoing investigation into a case that is sensitive in nature.
Anyone with information on the girl's identity is urged to call the FBI at (503) 224-4181.
