Charleston police arrested a woman accused of attacking her child's father with a knife while he was working at a fast-food restaurant Sunday.
The victim told police he was working at the Burger King at 7 Cherry St. at 1 p.m. when the mother of his 1-year-old child shattered the windows of his SUV with a claw hammer and then flattened all of his tires with a knife.
A police incident report described what followed:
The woman entered the restaurant while holding both the knife and the hammer and confronted the victim as he stood behind the counter.
The woman started swinging the hammer at the victim, who put his hands up to shield himself from the attack. The woman then leaned over the counter and cut the victim on the cheek with the knife.
Police charged Sirquanna Rosanna Aiken, 18, of Charleston with assault and battery with intent to kill and damages to personal property.
The couple's child was put into the custody of the 21-year-old victim, the report states.
