A traffic stop for a broken headlight led to drunk driving charges for a Monroe man.
George Greer, 27, 1345 Parker Road, was charged Friday night with improper headlights, open container, driving while intoxicated, three counts of no child restraints and three counts of child endangerment.
An arrest affidavit said officers with the University of Louisiana at Monroe Police Department observed Greer driving with one headlight near the 4300 block of DeSiard Street. Upon stopping Greer, ULM police said they smelled alcohol in the car and Greer failed subsequent field sobriety tests.
Officers found empty beer cans in Greer’s trunk and three unrestrained children in the backseat.
He was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center on a total bond of $6,100.
