I'm not sure I'll ever understand. If you don't want your baby, at the very least, take it somewhere safe where they stand a chance at being adopted! Don't strangle your child as soon as they take their first breath.
Hell, I don't care if you do a ding dong ditch on a friendly neighbors doorstep, it's better than that. And, an abandonment charge, a lot lighter than murder.

When the hell will these pathetic "ladies" figure out birth control is less of a hassle than murder charges? She disgusts me.

Maybe someone needs to choke the shit out of her and see how it feels. Stupid bitch. Learn to use birth control for god's sake or keep your dam legs closed.

A 25-year-old who gave birth in her parents' basement has been charged with first degree murder in the death of her baby girl. Authorities said the baby was found wrapped in plastic in a refrigerator.
Alice Marie Zeorlin is accused of killing the newborn by asphyxiation on May 31 at the home in Overland Park in the 7000 block of Hemlock.
One day after the baby was born, Zeorlin told her parents about the birth. At the time, police said the baby was already dead when she notified her parents. Police also said they didn't think the parents knew their daughter was pregnant.

Alice Zeorlin used to work as an administrative assistant at Catholic Charities. But, she no longer works there.http://www.fox4kc.com/wdaf-young-mother-birth-in-basement-arrest-72909,0,4978652.story

Ya know...I got pregnant when I was 17. I don't regret it, but my mom was CRAZY about it because she knew before I could even tell her. If you're a good parent, you just know that somethings not right. I guess my mom kept track or something, but she just KNEW from the very start...before I even found out for sure. When I got pregnant with my third child, I called and talked to her like normal and didn't say anything about it. 10 minutes later, she called me back and asked me if I was pregnant...A DAY after I found out. Maybe my mom is just a super hero or something, but I find it hard to believe that they didn't suspect something.

My mom's the same way... Both times, I called her, said "Hey mom, guess what" then she start's squealing "You're Not! Oh Congratulations, when's the due date?" And I was hours away from her both times.

Last Update: 2:36 pm OLATHE, Kan. –
An Overland Park woman accused of asphyxiating her newborn daughter and telling authorities the child was stillborn will make her first court appearance today.
Alice Marie Zeorlin is charged with one count of first-degree murder in the death of her newborn baby.
A complaint filed Wednesday in Johnson County District Court claims the 25-year-old killed her newborn baby girl by asphyxiation on May 31.
Zeorlin allegedly gave birth in the basement bedroom of an Overland Park house that night, wrapped the baby in a bag and waited until the next day to tell her family about the birth.
Prosecutors say they had to wait until autopsy results were released to determine if the child had been stillborn as Zeorlin said.
Zeorlin is being held in the Johnson County Adult Detention Center. Prosecutors are asking for her bond to be set at $250,000.
A statement issued Thursday shortly before Zeorlin's court appearance said she and her family would not have any public comment regarding the case.
This is at least the third unusual death of a child in Johnson County this year.
Last week, a 47-year-old Olathe daycare operator was charged with the April death of an 18-month-old girl who was under her care.
And in June, health officials shut down a Merriam daycare when a 7-month-old child died from internal injuries sustained while at the facility. No charges have been filed in that case. http://www.nbcactionnews.com/content/breaking/story/OP-Woman-Charged-in-Babys-Death/20_Q0g1zFkyQ5Ap5DJmcqQ.cspxhttp://i25.tinypic.com/24v1oiu.jpg

I can't shake the feeling it wasn't so much she was scared to tell them as much as she wanted to make sure they couldn't try and make her take responsibility for the poor baby. She's 25 for Christ sake!

This is at least the third unusual death of a child in Johnson County this year. Unusual to be wrapped and put in the fridge, yes but I have far better words to describe that very act. Unusual doesn't even begin to cover it. Sure she's saying the baby was born dead how convenient for her. Lets see what autopsy has to say about that. I have no faith in woman who can wrap and store their newborn like leftovers.
Rest in peace baby Evangelina Nova.

Preliminary hearing held yesterday:
[...]
A medical examiner testified today that the baby was born alive and died from asphyxiation, maternal neglect, exposure to cold or some combination of those causes.
Police Detective Laurie Bridges testified that Zeorlin told her she had a miscarriage in the past and hoped that was happening again.
“She thought if she prayed about it hard enough, it would just go away,” Bridges said.
She said she did not want to look at the baby when it came out and referred “to it as it or a thing,” the detective said.
Defense lawyer Christina Dunn argued that her client was in severe pain and had panicked but had no intention to kill.
She read from Zeorlin’s statement to police: “It was like I was watching myself. I didn’t know what was going on; it just freaked me out. It hurt so bad. I was confused.”
Dunn argued that evidence supported a lesser charge of unintentional, reckless second-degree murder.
Assistant prosecutor Chris McMullin said that even under the defense theory, Zeorlin intentionally endangered the child by leaving her on the floor to die. That could make the crime felony murder, he said.
The judge ruled that the evidence supports either first-degree murder or the alternative of felony murder.

Mother Defends Daughter In Baby Death Case
Update from the preliminary hearing December 22, 2009 (unedited)
OLATHE, Kan. -- Linda Zeorlin has already lost a granddaughter and she might now be losing her daughter, as well.
In Johnson County court on Tuesday, Linda's daughter, 25-year-old Alice Zeorlin, faced a preliminary hearing on charges of first-degree murder in the death of her newborn baby. Prosecutors said on May 31 Alice Zeorlin gave birth to a girl after which she wrapped the child in a trash bag and put her in the refrigerator where officials said she died.
On Tuesday, Linda Zeorlin remembered talking to her daughter after discovering the baby's body.
"She said, 'Oh mom, oh mom, I don't know what to do. Have you told dad?'" Linda Zeorlin said. "She said, 'Please don’t tell dad.' I said, 'Alice, we have to do what's right.'"
Prosecutors allege Alice Zeorlin knew the baby was alive when she put her in the trash bag, which is why she has been charged with first-degree murder.
The defense disagrees and on Tuesday they went after the detective who interviewed Alice Zeorlin while she was in the hospital.
Meanwhile prosecutors said not only did Zeorlin commit murder, she researched how to do it, reportedly telling police that she used the Internet for home abortion remedies. The medical examiner said the official cause of death was asphyxiation.

You know whats really sick is catholic charities has an adoption agency they are a huge adoption agency nation wide I use them for legal work in alot of my adoptions. I dont know what her job was bt she would have all the info on it and know that all she would have to do is give them the baby sign some papers and walk away and no one would ever know
this is going badly

Even if you know exactly what to do, denial and shame are hard to overcome.
What really bothers me about this one is that as far as I can tell, the baby was never given a name.
I have seen plenty of stillbirths over the years and Catholics name, sometimes even baptize and usually have funerals for stillborn infants and this baby was born alive.
