Yurub Arte used a Tater Peeler to attack another woman for some Tit Bits

I've been lurking and reading and came across this and felt a need to share.


A bizarre plot, more twisted than a curly-fry, has left one woman recovering from a stab wound inflicted by potato peeler outside a Vancouver nightclub.

Police say Yurub Mohammed Arte, 25, stabbed a 20-year-old woman in the left ear and gnawed at the victim’s right breast Monday around 2 a.m. outside Republic in the 900 block of Granville Street.

The two women, who know one another, were inside the club when a war of words escalated into the unorthodox assault – perhaps the first of its kind in North America, according to Vancouver police.

Investigators are unsure of how Arte produced the shiv.

The victim, who was seriously bloodied in the assault, underwent treatment for minor injuries.

Of all the times I've peeled potatoes, I've never once thought it would be a decent weapon in an attack.

Now torture, after you have the victim subdued, that it could be useful for....

I wonder if it was one of the new peelers as seen on TV...the cool one that sticks to the side of a yellow squash! If so, I can understand carrying that fucker around as a weapon - it looks vicious and I need one!

But that combined with biting her tit? I want to know what they were arguing about...

The incident began shortly after midnight Monday. The Republic nightclub's regular Monday evening entertainers – a musical group called Young, Rich and Famous – had been playing hip-hop, top 40 and party-rock classics. Five-dollar tequila shots were the featured drinks at the club that night.

Ms. Arte, who police say came to Canada from Somalia, became involved in “a verbal altercation” with a 20-year-old woman inside the club. The two women knew each other and had “a history” with each other. The exchange was fuelled by alcohol.

The two women were ejected from the club. On the street, Ms. Arte allegedly bit the 20-year-old woman on the left breast and then sliced her left ear with the potato peeler. Staff from the club intervened and held Ms. Arte until police arrived.

The victim's ear bled heavily. However medical staff at the hospital said the injury was minor. After receiving medical treatment for her ear injury and bite wound, the victim was released from hospital.

Police have not yet determined how Ms. Arte obtained the potato peeler. Constable McGuinness was not prepared to release any details about the type of potato peeler.
