Hey everyone! Yet another true-crime follower who started lurking here when Rowan Ford was murdered and have lurked off and on (mostly on) since then. I usually don't have a problem talking IRL, but for some reason putting together an introduction here is a bit harder!
Let's see, at home I have a wonderful husband, two great kids, and Wyatt, the rescue Chihuahua aka the One Ball Wonder. I work full time, just finished my Bachelor's degree in history (word to the wise, 14 months of full time work and full time school is suicidal) and am contemplating applying to grad school next year. I need to take a year off though, I'm tired!
I'm really not sure how I got interested in true crime-- I think in part it was after I had kids, I became more aware of crimes against children, and wanted to do everything in my power to protect them. A lot of the crimes I've read about here fall into the, "well, duh" category. Leave your child with a crack-head with a history of violence and you'll end up with a dead or injured baby. But the others are the ones that have me looking at my neighbors funny-- and not allowing my kids to play at very many of their houses.
So there you have it-- wish I could have made it more interesting, but I guess I'm just boring today. But if there is a niche to be filled by a book loving history buff with a tendency to wax on about the rise of labor unions or the impact of fundamentalism on the shaping of US foreign policy, let me know! :::crickets::: Hmmm... maybe some other time! :p
