MINNEAPOLIS -- A teen wounded in a confrontation with Minneapolis police has been charged with two counts of felony assault in the first degree.

Hennepin County prosecutors said officers responding to a report of shots fired early Sunday tried to stop two individuals, but one of them fled on foot and later pointed a handgun at two officers trying to apprehend him.

One officer shot and wounded the teen, who was arrested.

Charged Tuesday was 18-year-old Chebo Njoya Chomilo, who remains in custody.

This kid is the younger brother of a boy that i was friends with in the beginning of high school. I knew that one day i would see his name in the news.

Officers responded at about 3:30 a.m. to 19th Street and Park Avenue S. They found two male suspects near 14th Street and Park Avenue, according to police. One of the suspects, Jules N. Chomilo, 19, was arrested for probable cause receiving and concealing stolen property. Chebo N. Chomilo fled on foot.

Looks like his brother was involved to. Doesn't suprise me... Jules was arrested when he was 15 for stealing a car and then fleeing the police and taking them on a high speed chase.
