A 17-year-old was arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year-old Saturday afternoon.
Brandon Davis was booked with negligent homicide in connection with the killing of Nathaniel Burton on Saturday about 4 p.m. in the 1200 block of Mandeville Street.
Responding to a report of a shooting, 5th District officers found Burton inside his house on the couch with a single gunshot to the head.
Emergency medical technicians pronounced him dead on the scene.
Detectives identified Davis as a suspect in the course of the investigation. He turned himself in at police headquarters Saturday night.
Police are listing Burton's death as unclassified because the shooting may have been accidental, said officer Janssen Valencia, a Police Department spokesman.
Investigators are looking into whether Burton was playing with the gun or there was a struggle for the firearm between the two teens inside the home at the time, Valencia said.
