Allie Croom, 2, drowned at Lake Stanley Draper Thursday, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

Donnie Reeser, 29, a boyfriend of the girl's mother, was arrested Thursday night, Knight said.

About 5:30 p.m. police were called to Midwest City Regional Hospital where detectives began looking into the girl's death.

Investigators developed probable cause to believe that Reeser was at Lake Stanley Draper with the victim. Reeser allegedly forced the child under water until she drowned, police said.

Reeser was taken to Oklahoma City police headquarters where investigators interviewed him and subsequently booked him into the Oklahoma County Jail on a murder complaint, Knight said.

I wonder if he confessed or if someone saw him? Where was mom? If someone saw him--why wouldn't/didn't they stop him? So many questions.

RIP little angel.

The article above also says:

According to Allie's mother, the girl walked out of the water on her own. Shortly after, Allie began acting strange and coughed up water. She was then taken to the hospital where she died.

I don't understand why he would be repeatedly forcing her head under water.

Weeks before Donald Reeser was arrested on suspicion of drowning his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter, neighbors said he apologized to them for any screams from the little girl or noises from his apartment that might have kept them awake in the middle of the night. His apologies did not raise their suspicion at the time, they said.

Allie’s biological father, Jonathan Croom, 24, was granted shared custody of his two daughters after his divorce from Amber Croom was finalized in March.

Jonathan Croom said Friday he does not know what happened Thursday at the lake, but he said that he does know his daughter, Ariana, 4, was traumatized by the death of her sister.

Jonathan Croom said he was given custody of Ariana on Thursday night, but she hasn’t told him what happened.

Croom said he’s not pushing her for details.

"I don’t know if she saw the drowning or not,” Croom said. "I know she saw the blood and stuff, but they had a counselor that talked to her before I got her back and they won’t tell me what she told the counselor.”

The grandmother said the little girl also had her share of hardships, as she confided in her grandmother that her mom’s boyfriend "spanked me a lot.”

"I wish we would have done something sooner,” Patricia Croom said.

Why is the mom defending this POS and why the fuck didn't she stop this man from hurting her child?

Jonathan Croom, the girl's father, said he's trying to make sense of the situation.

"She didn't like the water at all," he said. "She wouldn't even put her feet in the swimming pool."

Yet again, people that knew or suspected abuse and did nothing. We wonder why kids sometimes snap and kill their abuser? Because usually everyone knows or suspects but does nothing.

Dry drowning? I'd like to more about what happened. Why do the cops think he did this, when the mother was there & says that's not what happened?

"You just want to know what the motive is behind something like that and how it happened out in broad daylight," said Larry Guerrero.

Guerrero was at Lake Stanley Draper Thursday afternoon at about the same time officers say 2-year-old Allie Croom was killed.

"We were out here at about 5:30- 6:00 about the time it happened and we didn't see anything or any police or anything," said Guerrero.

That's because the police weren't called until the girl was taken to the hospital and by that time it was too late.

"They transported the child in a personal vehicle, and obviously the child was already dead at that point," said Master Sgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Dept.

Witnesses and family members then told police the boyfriend of the little girls' mother, Donnie Reeser was to blame for this tragedy.

"Don Reeser had intentionally put the child in the water and had repeatedly dunked the child over and over, until ultimately the child drowned," said Knight.

Reeser was then booked into the Oklahoma County jail on one count of murder in the first degree. We looked into Reeser's criminal history and found out he plead guilty to assault and battery with a deadly weapon back in October of 2006. He has been out of jail on a 5 year deferred sentence and ordered to take anger management classes and psychological counseling. So as new details come out about his involvement in the death of this little girl, many are wondering how this happened.

"It's an eerie feeling thinking about it. People come out here for fun and enjoyment and then have to leave by hearing some news or story like that," said Guerrero.
