Police: Man's Daughter Helped Home Invasion Kidnappers
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A Bakersfield man was kidnapped and able to escape by asking supermarket employees for help, while his 14-year-old daughter was arrested in connection with his kidnapping. Three people have been arrested in connection with the robbery, including the girl. It started late Tuesday night when two men allegedly broke into a northwest home attempting to make off with cash.
Two males, a 27-year-old and a 17-year-old, were found in a coat closet at a home on the 11000 block of Reagan Road by a man who lives at the home. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, they demanded money from the victim when his fiance arrived at the house. As she came in he told her that he would drive the suspects to an ATM and give them cash.
He drove the suspects to the Savemart on Coffee and Hageman roads to withdraw money. But before returning to the home he called 911. Police found and arrested them, then also the man's 14-year-old daughter.
Police said she knew the suspects and helped them plan the robbery. According to police, the victim's daughter was a runaway and had not been located for the last three weeks.
Ingo Gonzalez, 27, was arrested on charges of robbery, carjacking and conspiracy. The 17-year-old boy was also arrested on unknown charges.
