VIRGINIA BEACH – A Sunday school teacher is charged with sexually abusing a child in his class and investigators worry other children could have been victimized.
Shea Mathew Huffman, 18, was arrested Friday at his home on Lowery Downs.
According to police, a young child reported being sexually abused for a year and a half beginning in January 2008.
Investigators say Huffman sexually abused the child, who was in his class of three to five year olds at the Calvary Assembly of God on Providence Rd.
Huffman is charged with custodial indecent liberties and forcible sodomy.
Detectives from the Special Victims Unit are continuing to investigate this case and feel that there may be additional victims. They are working closely with the church to determine if there are any additional victims from Huffman’s class. Anyone with information about this case, or who may have been a victim of this suspect is asked to call Emergency Communications at 757-385-5000 and speak with a Special Victims Unit detective.
Police aren’t releasing his photograph because photo lineups need to be done. http://www.wvec.com/news/topstories/stories/wvec_local_061909_vb_sunday_school_aid_abuse_.7a48 147.html
