Husband is arrested; beaten wife comatose


Jeffry Reichert, 51, of the 300 block of West DeWald Street, was booked into the Allen County Lockup on preliminary charges of aggravated battery, domestic battery and neglect of a dependent. He was being held in lieu of $20,750 bail.
According to a probable cause affidavit, police were called to Parkview Hospital on March 1 after Reichert’s wife, Barbara was brought to the hospital in a comatose state. Hospital staff told police that she was suffering from bruises, bleeding and sores in various stages of healing, court documents said.


Police said Barbara Reichert remained unresponsive and on a ventilator in critical condition Thursday when officers interviewed her husband. During an interview with officers, Reichert allegedly admitted to having battered his wife between Feb. 24 and March 1.


Police said Reichert told them that he would lift his wife about 2 feet and then drop her, causing her head to slam into the floor. Reichert also said he kicked her about 30 times and used cigarettes to burn her about 10 times, police said.

Two registered sex offenders are being held in the Allen County Jail in the beating of a 70-year-old woman who investigators say was dropped on her head multiple times during the course of a week, deprived of vital medication and left in a coma.

Wendy S. Nattinger, 38, was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated battery and neglect of a dependent. Last week, police arrested her roommate, 51-year-old Jeffry Reichert, on the same charges, as well as battery. He was formally charged by Allen County prosecutors Wednesday.

Reichert has a record; he was convicted of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14 in 1985. Nattinger has two child-molestation convictions from the late 1990s, and one of sexual misconduct with a minor. The legal system has deemed her a sexually violent predator.

According to Allen Superior Court probable-cause affidavits, Nattinger and Jeffry Reichert told detectives they would drop his wife from two or three feet in the air so her head would smash against the floor. They estimated they did this between 10 and 50 times during the course of the week leading up to March 1, and kicked her up to 20 times, according to court documents.

Nattinger told detectives she was responsible for giving Barbara Reichert medication and food when her husband wasn't there to do so.
Jeffry Reichert also told police that two or three days before police arrived his wife had suffered a stroke and that she didn't get around on her own after that.

Later, a nurse at a local hospital said the injuries Reichert received “overwhelmed” hospital staff and that it was the “most extensive” case of abuse she had probably ever seenAre these people on drugs? I suppose demented people don't need drugs to come up with this crap.

I have a bunch of questions. When did they get married? Does she have kids? Does he? Did she know his history? How did they meet? When did the "roommate" move in? Do the husband and the roomie have a thing going on? How did those two meet?

They met in an online Canasta league. Reichert and his wife moved from CA. to Fort Wayne to live with Nattinger and her girlfriend. The girlfriend isn't being charged....

The dynamic molesting duo had there day in court and are going back to jail.
What a tag team these 2 make, it send shivers down my spine just thinking about it. They were made for each other the sick fucks. Jeff got 40 years , but it looks like the most they can give Wendy is up to 15 years. But its not all bad news cause the judge ordered her sentance to start AFTER she serves the sexual misconduct with a minor & child molesting convictions. As far as I can tell thats a total of 12 years so it should be almost 30 years for this skank behind bars.

Wendy S. Nattinger, a twice-convicted sex offender, pleaded guilty this month to a single charge of aggravated battery. Along with Jeffry Reichert, 52, Nattinger participated in the near-fatal torture of Reichert’s 71-year-old wife Barbara Reichert.

Gull sentenced Nattinger to 15 years in prison, but ordered that sentence to be served after she completes prison sentences for sexual misconduct with a minor out of Warren County and child molesting out of Tippecanoe County.

She also ordered Nattinger to pay $19,463 in restitution.

They were all living off her disability checks and she had some kind of family inheritance.The 2 abused the hell out of her, burned with ciggys and what nots. She is in a nursing home mow and still not recovered from the abuse.
