So Jaded

Hello all!! Just thought I would take a minute or three to introduce myself. I tried posting earlier this morning and the whole damn thing just poofed into thin air. So, if this turns out to be a repeated post, I apologize.

I stumbled onto this site after courttv.com closed up shop. I was feening for my daily dose of true crime and I found it here. I have also found that I like DD much better than any other site I've stumbled across. Great stories without all the PC crap. And the forums are great! After I registered...I went back and read each story that had been posted. Yes, even back before there were true crime stories. Ahhh...such devotion! ;) Some of the stories had me cracking up...like the dead deer fucker and the dude that likes to mount Rotties. Other stories have hurt my heart....like the Mullis shithead.

Now, about me. I have been a single mom of 4 for 10 years now and recently became a *gasp* grandma. (I'm still not used to that word). My grandson was born in late December and is quite possibly the cutest little guy ever! I have managed to raise my children to be somewhat respectful, responsible teen-agers and not once did I ever feel the need to stomp in their heads, throw them in a dryer, or hose them down with the pressure washer. My kids are awesome and they have probably taught me more than I will ever be able to teach them. They have taught me patience and gave new meaning to the word 'fear'. They have taught me that I am stronger and smarter than I give myself credit for. And, above all, they have taught me that it is a really, really BAD idea to lure moths into the microwave....press 1 minute....and watch them sparkle. It makes your microwave smell. Terribly. FOR WEEKS!! Ok...my son taught me that, my daughters say they had nothing to do with it. I think my son is the reason that I have such a great sense of humor...wouldn't survive around here without one.

I am owned by the 3 kiddos still living at home....and I home-school 2 of them. I am also owned by a dwarf bunny and a dwarf hamster. Cause, well...they have really little mouths and really little poop. I graduated college in September of last year and plan to return for my associates in Criminal Justice in September of this year. When I grow up, I wanna be a Victims Advocate because I believe that victims and their families get trampled on and forgotten.

Misc. shit.....I have a fascination with serial killers. I don't wish to have one living next door to me, but I would love to have the opportunity to interview a few of them. I have a sick and twisted sense of humor....I can find humor in almost any situation. I am about as far from PC as a person can get. I cuss. A LOT. Sometimes even when it's not necessary. I support the death penalty and think it should be used more often. There are a few things I just will not talk about.....politics, religion and abortion. Oh yeah....and OJ. Stupid people give me hours of entertainment. Did I mention that I'm easily amused? And I'm a dork and can be somewhat nerdy at times. I like to slap the shit outta people tHaT TyPe LikE ThIs and use the word 'izzle' in their vocabulary. I live on coffee and I read, a lot. The sun is starting to rise...so it must be time for bed.

I just want to say thank you to Morbid, Impqueen and all the others that keep this site what it is. I'm glad that I found it! :D

Thanks for the introduction, Jaded, and congrats on the college thang.

Ah. The common thread that seems to bind all DD'ers together.

Coffee. Lots and lots of coffee!!! :D

Damnit! I knew I was doing something wrong. No degree, no kids and I'm not even homeschooling myself...

...all because I'm a TEA drinker! :p

It's great to have you here, SJ. I know I don't have to tell you, but you're one sharp cookie and I happen to be awfully fond of sharp cookies...Except for the ones found in Halloween candy bags.

Welcome, my fellow nut head! First of all, I love your name. So Jaded is a damn good description of more than a few of us, after life's journey. :p I'm glad you find the use of profanity a welcome thing. I've always been told I have a foul mouth....and fuck, I just thought I was wordy and expressive....it's nice to know there are other's that are like me. :D It seems we all fit well together, like some big ass crazy dysfunctional family. Nice to learn some stuff about you, congrats on your successes. You rock, sister!
Peace,
Hippie
