STUART — An alleged drug-induced report of a burglary led to the arrest of a Stuart couple Monday morning, according to an affidavit.
Shannon A. Graney, 24, and Ryan Paul Herchen, 24, both of the 2800 block of Southeast Holly Street, were each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
The affidavit states deputies were called to the residence at 2:10 a.m. after Graney reported a shot had been fired and three people were inside the couple’s home.
Deputies arrived to find the couple alone in the house and no signs of burglary. Graney claimed the burglars put a pipe through the wall to escape when deputies arrived.
After noticing the couple had fresh needle marks on their arms, deputies were given permission to search the house. The affidavit states hypodermic needles, pill crushers, a crack pipe and spoons with white residue were found throughout the home.
Graney and Herchen were booked into the Martin County Jail and released on $500 bond Monday afternoon.
